Urgent need of counseling

I'm sure many of you must be in a similar situation, and I DESPERATELY need help in deciding.

I've been offered a seat in GIK for electrical engineering, but they're asking for a NON-REFUNDABLE 4 lakh deposit by 24th July, which is well before NUST publishes its results. But the thing is, I really prefer NUST a lot over GIK. For a start it's better for electrical (just assume it is even if you disagree), much cheaper, and not in the middle of nowhere (I'm really not thrilled by the prospect of spending 4 years in the middle of the mountains -__-)

I think my NET went pretty good, and I'm applying on the basis of SAT II as well (with a score of 2380), but still, obviously nothing can be guaranteed before the result is out.

So....what would you do if you were in my place?

What's the last date for fee submission in GIKI? Secondly, when is the NUST entry test result expected to be announced?

Edit: Never mind my earlier post. To be on the safe side, I would urge you to NOT let go of GIKI's seat. Submit the fee because it is always refundable, a certain amount that is.

I was stuck in a similar situation, what I did I laid down the positives and negatives of both the situations.
I literally wrote them on paper, rate all the points as per their importance.

In this way you'll be in a much better position to decide. And don't forget to ask Allah for help, as he will always guide you towards what is best for you.

Only 10k of the 4 lakh deposit is refundable; the rest I will lose entirely if I don't decide to go to GIK -,-
And here I thought LUMS was the limit of how greedy a uni can get.

As far as I know, NUST results won't be announced till ~10th August.

[MENTION=15664]Ali250[/MENTION] That's very strange. I was refunded all but 10% of the submitted fee by GIKI. Are you sure this is still not the case? Maybe you misunderstood the rules regarding the refund?

    That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

    About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
