Hey guys, so I had been looking to buy a replacement laptop for my aged HP 13" one since it was a bit heavy to carry when i go abroad and quite honestly became slow as hell. Its been serving me well for around a year and a half now and i guess it was time for me to say bye bye to it. So recently when i went to dubai i was looking for its replacement, main feature i was looking for was portability meaning very light weight which had somewhat limited my choices. Our very own tech geek AFQ had shown me the ASUS Zenbook sometime back and i was really attracted to it, but then i did some research online and read how horrible its trackpad was so i didnt consider it. Then again he showed me the Lenovo Ideapad U300s which really did attract me due to its specs and good user reviews online. So from there my hunt began to look for it in dubai and i was surprised to see that almost none of the retailers carried this specific model. They either had a Toshiba Netbook which looked shit and had really shit specs, or it was some other company i cant recall its name right now but it also had shit specs. Long story short after roaming around in almost all the malls and retailers i finally found the lenovo with the specs that i was after. So here it is. A very small unboxing of the already unboxed.
So there we have it. Some pros and cons after using it for like 3 weeks.
Pros:
Where you might think there are more cons than pros, i have listed each con seperately whereas ive listed 2 or 3 pros together. All in all i consider this as a perfect replacement for the heavy and clunky HP laptop i had. Its perfect for travelling and when you're on the move. The ssd really is an added bonus, it speeds things up a lot. Oh and one more thing which i really did like, though its not related to the laptop itself but its about the buying experience. I was in a sort of a rush when i was purchasing the laptop, i just went in the store and asked the guy to give me this one and make it quick. The guy went to the store to get the laptop and i see him coming back with this huge bag in his hands and guess whats inside.
I get a HP Desktop printer (although it was quite a shit printer but still if its free i dont mind do i)
I get a laptop carry case (once again low quality but still its free)
I get a headset and a mouse (again low quality but free)
I get a box o chocolates
(not low quality and very delicious i must say).
and I get extended warranty on this for another year with replacement if something happens to the laptop (initially it was 1 year but i extended it to 2 years and this wasnt free i had to pay for it
)
The point behind mentioning all these free goodies is that i wish customers can be treated the same here in Pakistan, you get free goodies even if they are shit in quality when you purchase something expensive.
And thats about it i guess. Thanks for reading

Pros:
- Well built and love the design and colour
- Very slim and lightweight.
- Super Fast, Windows loads in around 15 seconds from boot up.
- The 256GB SSD
- Intel Widi enabled, though i have yet to try it out.
- Only 4 Gig Ram, photoshop and other ram intensive tasks really do take a hit because of this but i think its upgradable.
- Poor viewing angles, they really are very poor.
- No keyboard backlight, although i can live with it but it is should be there when you're working in the dark.
- Price of course, really expensive.
- Only 2 USB ports, 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0
- No ethernet jack (alternatives are available like USB to Ethernet but you have to purchase them seperately).
