Thanks for you comments guys first of all the pics the level of crapness is cause i use my lil bro iPhone to take pictures cause its the only digicam i have and secondly i am the second person to get a i7 laptop on PG but who cares cause i bought the Dell Studio XPS 1645. xD

@evil i know the gpu isnt this laptops strong suite but iam not going to use this primarily for gaming its more for video processing and converting but i installed spore in it and its working fine the graphics aren't like the 8800 Ultras but at-least the game doesn't look unbearably bad

Dude, after looking at this thread, I think your next purchase should be a digital camera

Few things I wana ask/mention though.

- Were the specs pre-configured?
- Weak GPU. On the (newer?) Studio XPS 16, when you go with i7, you get a HD5730 1GB combo and HD4670 with Core i5s.
- This thing gets hot. Clean out the vent one every 2 months or something.
- VERY glossy finish makes for a reflective screen. Little annoyance while watching movies.
- Is the native res 1080?

Great purchase though. One of the fewer Dell laptops with good build quality.

yaar i was gonna buy that one its called the Dell Studio 1557 (not XPS) but it has shit reviews from various sites concerning build quality one that i didnt like was that it has heating issues and the slot loaded dvd burner was prone to faliure after about a years worth of use so i raised my budget and bought this beauty excellent all around.

LOL yeah i really need a Digicam

um. as far as i know this lappy was customized somewhat from the dell website like the 500gb hard drive blu-ray reader and the full-Hd Led display these things dont come stock other than that i dunno.

yeah the gpu i was initially disappointing when i heard it had the 4670 but the only game i wanna play on it is old RTS like dawn of war and tiberium wars which run on high very well in 1080p mind you plus the HD video playback is superb so iam satisfied by its performance personally i would have liked at-least a choice of gpu's on this system but dell only offers the 4670 :\ .

The glossy finish doesn't annoy me while watching movies but i hate the amount of finger prints the glossy surface attracts lol i find myself cleaning them all the time and finally yes its native resolution is 1080p

P.S: can any one tell me whats the nvidia counter part of the 4670 first Ati card lol dont know much about its power level and which games i can fluently play on this card like 30 Fps
and will i be able to play Dawn of War I + Expansion Packs On High (IMP cause the rip i am downloading doesn't have low or medium settings xD ) and will Dawn of War II + Chaos Rising play on this Card
