I always buy iphones so a review from me may sound biased. Anyway i would give it a try.
So been with it for 2 days now and the best part of the phone: DISPLAY. The AMOLED display is stunning, like the Galaxy S8. Its a serious (and much needed) upgrade over Iphone 7 Plus' display.
Design: As I said I loved the design before its release and it feels better in real compared to the pictures. The sides of the silver colour are chrome (like the old iPod) and I have heard that it gets scratched easily. Will have to wait and see for myself though I hope it doesnt happen.
Battery: unplugged it in the morning 8am. At the time of writing(11.45 PM) its shows 64%. Used a bit of facebook, 2-3 calls. I find it better than iphone 7 plus (note that 7 plus has been used for a year).
Face Id: Quick and reliable. No problems there. It recognises you when you look at it even from the sides and even when wearing big over the ear headphones. There is one annoying thing though. When it doesnt recognise you the first time, it asks for passcode. If you want to try the face id again, you have to tap cancel on the passcode prompt and try again unlike the touch id where you would simply touch the button again and again. ( I hope you understand what I am trying to say here
)
No home button: I got used to it in a day with normal usage. The gestures are very smooth and worked every single time for me. So no issues there as well. I dont use SIRI so thats not a problem for me. Havent tried apple pay here as it isnt available in Pakistan. I used to use apple pay in Australia though and paying with touch ID was a charm. Dont know if apple pay has lost its charm with face id or not.
So thats my findings for the day. Overall, as I said I love apple phones so, I like this one aswell. Its really the biggest update ever on an iphone. The display is the single enough reason to buy the phone. (I know Samsung had amazing display already, I am not going to go in the debate of Apple vs. Samsung or other android phones for now
