i checked out chun's ultra II then done some ryu trials. finally moved swiftly to ibuki and makoto then the light went :<
but damn ibuki is amazing, so much shit to learn, its going to be a fun times trying to download her stuff into my brain. nasty ninja.
updating to the new firmware so i can try online, but its taking aaagees!!!!!

Man i just love Ibuki Ultra very dynamic. =[ Damn i'm seeing bunch of people on my psn playing SSF4 already.

After playing for 6 hours yesterday, and doing a lot of trials, here are more detailed impressions:
Cody:
A GDLK character. I would rate him #1 in the newcomers because he's got the ease of use and the damage that Ryu had in SFIV. He can combo anything off anything. After a HK Ruffian Kick -> FADC ->, you can combo with another crack kick, or an EX crack kick, or EX Criminal Upper, or Ultra 1, or (my favorite), neutral jump HP. U2 can be combo'ed from point blank bad stone, or cl.HP (1 frame link). U1 can be combo'ed from a point blank EX Bad Stone. Knife is top tier. Super easy to link 4-5 jabs with knife, and you can follow with cr LK xx Criminal Upper (the Knife won't fall). Knife destroys opponents in chip/clutch situations.
His dash is a bit deceptive. You recover sooner from it than it appears on screen (or must be the HDTV lag). You need to use muscle memory rather than visual cues to link jabs after Criminal Upper -> FADC (Trial 24).
Adon:
He's got great pokes, and jabs. But his special moves aren't so hot outside combos. You can link crouching jabs after a Jaguar Tooth, but the timing is kinda difficult. Besides, the Jaguar Tooth has such a long startup that most would be able to block it. Similarly, you can combo Rising jaguar after an airborne Jaguar Kick, but even that takes some practice. Because of the trajectory of his moves, landing them will take some prediction and a lot of practice. However, what does work (normals xx Rising Jaguar FADC Ultra) works beautifully and does great damage. U2 is awesome. U1 isn't that great except against fireball characters, but then again, you actually hear a Jaguar growl at the end of U1! It doesn't get cooler than that. I'd say he's in the bottom 3 in the 10 new characters.
T. Hawk:
Absolutely wrecks shit. Fierce 360 for 230 damage? Wow. With a jumping HP, st. HP xx EX Rising Tomahawk xx EX Condor Dive, he can do as much damage as most characters do with Super. Not bad for 2 bars. A couple of normals are Godlike. That far st. RH is evil. U2 is very specific, U1 all the way. Might overtake Gief as the best grappler in the game. It all depends on the matchups. T. Hawk doesn't have Green Hand and Lariat, but Gief doesn't have Condor Dive and Condor Spire. What other characters can do to Hawk's giant hitbox matters as much as what he can do to them. I'd rate him in the Top 4 out of the 10 new characters.
Hakan:
He's excellent with Oil, not so much without. That's Hakan's story and that's pretty much it. I do think its a bit unfair, since Hakan with Oil, however powerful, isn't quite as much as T. Hawk. Yes, he can do some things that other can't - like move while focusing, and have increased range and damage. But we haven't found applications for those that would out him above the others.
Both Ultras are excellent. U1 with oil has allegedly more range than Gief's and does 530 damage! U2 is infamous. If you have it, the opponent can't jump. What pisses me off about Hakan is that he loses the most menial of links when he's unoiled. You can't even do J.HP, cr.MK xx Slide xx Splash if you're unoiled (and this combo does less damage than most characters' jump in combos). One of Hakan's most interesting tools is that when oiled, he can combo after a Level 1 focus (even if it doesn't crumple). Think of this as a parry from TS. Hakan's short jump actually hampers him unlike Gen's jump from IV.

Dee Jay:
Really refreshing and fun charge character to play with. His expression to his moves; everything's full of personality. His links are as easy as Balrog's and do respectable damage. He allows a lot of freedom for players to build their own playstyle. Fireballs are great, Upkicks are great, Sobat is great, Machine Gun Upper feels awesome. He is a very, very balanced charge character. Doesn't have any major weaknesses, and doesn't have any unfair strengths.
U2 (Vega U1 motion) does devastating damage, and I'd recommend it over U1. U1 (Sobat Festival) does nice damage too, and is good against fireballers (I assume it is, haven't tested it). Dee Jay also has great combo'ability in the corner. You can follow up an EX MGU with EX Upkicks or U2.
Every charge character player should try him out. Even though I'd put him in #5 or #6 compared to the 9 other new characters, when looking at the overall tier list, he should be Upper tier or Upper Mid tier.
Guy:
Isn't super awesome, but he's not as bad as some say either. My initial impression is that Guy has tools that warrant only a particular playstyle. I won't call him a One Trick Pony, but he doesn't give you as freedom as El F. or Dee Jay.
It starts with the Special moves. Individually, they do their job. Hurricane shuts jump ins on wake up, Ex shoulder is a great reversal, Bushin flip helps in mixups, and run is for baiting, scoring a knockdown, or overhead. However, these special moves aren't really combo'able besides acting as combo enders.
Guy's whole strategy revolves around taking your opponent to the corner. Once there, he's king. You can do FF chain, and follow it up with EX Shoulder/EX Hurricane/U1. Bushin flip also becomes more lethal for resets.
However, outside the corner, you can't do much, even with FADCs. So lets say you do jump in elbow, FF chain. That's cool, but you can't really combo anything afterwards, unless you're close to the corner, at which point you can FADC EX Hozanto. U1 is a lot better than U2, and I'd recommend it in every matchup. He's a bit hard to play with, and doesn't have the damage output to make it worthwhile. However, I plan on sticking with him, hopefully my impressions will change as I discover more about him (possibly something broken a la RSF?). Bottom 5 in the new 10.

Anyway, was reminiscing the little time I did spend with SSF4:
1)- Guile's U2 is very useful. I did catch Ryu a couple of times while in a fireball fight. His flash kick also seemed like it auto-corrected, which makes it a viable option as an anti-crossup. But still, won't call it SRK level.
2)- Blanka's U2 required you to mash the kick buttons in order for the complete 420 damage to come out (on the ground version). Other than that, I don't know about comboability and stuff yet. The recovery is WAY long on it, though.
3)- Motoko has horrible walk speed. Couldn't get a single hit with her.

It was way late last night when I was doing T.Hawk's trials. Dad got angry so I had to shut stuff down.
He's my college friend from Sharjah.
One of the three copies in the picture is for him. He can do special moves but he still has to learn the depth of this game.
And Makoto requires dash, Abuses will lead to ban can't move an inch without.
For PS3...i am a regular PS3 gamer....but not tht good at sf4....sephi is rite...got loads to learn from u guys...looking forward to play with all you pros...
