Changing that much wire seems alot of work man, the linesman will have to go to roof of house then insert the wire from ceiling into those white bars... Will i have to pay for the wire?

It is a lot of work, but it's usually worth it, especially considering the age of your current wiring.

my package got changed from 10Mb to 15Mb and my speed only increased by 1Mb and annexm also got disabled and my pings increased by 20ms. uh what happened

Your line is currently synced at 7 Mbps, not 4.

But yes, this line is easily capable of 15 Mbps.

Anyone else experiencing slow download speeds and packet loss? I have VDSL and my upload speed and line stats seem to be fine but the download is way below 1mb, when it is supposed to be around 24-25mb. I am in Wapda Town, Lahore.

SNR is somewhat okay, but your line is synced to just 13 Mbps not 15, thats why your speed got increased by only 1 MB.
If you want proper proper Upload speed like 5 or 6 Mbps then upgrade your connection to VDSL, if your exchange is upgraded.

yes this happen due to user congestion i was in same boat getting 2mbps download on 20mbps package where as upload speed was max all time turned out ptcl was not providing full bandwidth to area msag after complaining one month and getting complains from whole area they increased bandwidth and now i am getting full speed of 25 mbps(package upgrade) on vdsl.
you will notice full download speed after 2pm or at fajr time when there are less users

By the way, what are the upload/download speeds I'm going to expect? Do they throttle speeds during peak hours?

on GPON 25Mb down - 18Mb+ up

Update on my situation. I got call from a ptcl dude, he told me to downgrade from 15mbps to 8mbps because my snr are terrible. He said replacing line won't fix it because the issue is with the underground line that comes to exchange.

Just an excuse to conserve bandwidth. Most exchanges are facing serious congestion issues due to large amounts of people upgrading to high speed packages.

Although, seeing the state of your line in the photos, he's probably right.

Get the wire replaced and then see your SNR.

Underground line to the exchange is fiber, and that has absolutely no effect on the SNR of your line. So that's obviously bullshit lol.

whats the distance to exchange from your home and how far away is PTCL MSAG or cabinet

if your internet is stable and your line is crystal clear no static or crackling noise in telephone then there is no problem with your line or underground cable

PTCL service is getting crappier and crappier day by day. If they don't have the capacity then why the hell are they upgrading old customers connections and providing service to new customers. Now in the evening I can't even stream Youtube videos in 720p on a 25mbps connection and right now I am only getting 3-4mbps speed and packet loss and in the evening it will be like below 1mbps. Will email them all the details and hopefully they get this crap sorted out. If they don't then my only option is World Call.

How much downtime do you face on World Call? What is the upload speed and do you face packet loss or ping spikes etc? Also if possible can you traceroute these IPs: 13.67.60.237, 137.116.130.123, 52.232.42.122 and 40.69.36.69. Thank you.
