check ptcl reliability in your area, if the infrastructure is new then ptcl can be real good choice as your priority is speed not ping,

btw do you have wateen fiber connection?

PTCL is reliable, like it works perfectly for months. Infrastructure is not new, like we don't have GPON here

oh wateens hfc sucks, its the speed which is never consistent, because coaxial cant take the peak load,

by ptcl i meant do you have fiber cabinet near by? or in your area other people are using ptcl?

in my case ptcl seems to be very stable but pings are not always great and speeds sometimes goes down to shit, but when it works, it works great

Hahaha then I have shitty version of Wateen. I live in an Askari, we have the finer cabinet close-by, like a 120 meters away from my house. For some reason, PTCL performs better on google DNS or Cloudflare, but Wateen only works fine on their own DNS. (Which stops responding at times)

you should go with ptcl VDSL connection no need for gpon, or if available go for fiberlink or stormfiber, these are much better

Division rivals and weekend league are on dedicated servers in the UAE. They have been since September 17. That's where you are connecting to and I get 20~ ms to the server on TW. Always have and great performance. IP address is 185.179.202.65. Send a MTR report to i3d.net if you think you are getting higher latency than what you should be getting. Think PTCL may have a better route possible nowadays.

I've been wanting to ask the PTCL Twitter handle who do I contact to get them to fix the routing for some websites.

Not gaming related, but if I try to perform a traveroute to www.feedly.com from a TW1 connection, the ping is around 110ms since they go through the Singapore peer. PTCL goes through the European peer. If I ping the Singapore peer's IP from PTCL, the ping is comparable.

I wonder who to contact.

There's an optimised traceroute using pie on one of the recent srormfiber thread pages. Send that and yours and it should get fixed. Alternatively, follow the troubleshooting steps on i3d.net. They are very helpful and might even get through to PTCL on your behalf. That's what they did for me and numerous other users when I was with Fiberlink.

There's an i3d.net thread too for more info into how it works.

I don't understand why you want to get an optimised route for a website? Either way it's always dynamic and I'm not expert so I have no idea way. Changes day to day so there must be something to it.

As for the peer, it's most likely the Singapore internet exchange you are looking at. Doesn't necessarily mean they can directly peer with anyone on the exchange. Both PTCL and TW have a selective peering policy on the exchange. So for example TW and PTCL both peer with Microsoft Azure on the SIE but in some cases like AWS only PTCL peer directly or vice versa.
