Bro something is seriously wrong with your line or pair, you have to get it fixed. I saw that you're on 8/81 which is used for FTTC, but those SNR are way too low.

You should be getting something like SNR 18+ Down & 10+ Up.

If they fix your line, I think you can go for 8Mbps with 1Mbps Upload.

Yes bro, the D.B is broken on the pole from which I'm getting my connection since JANUARY this year.
Everything else is fine. Lineman (Allah bhala karein sb ka), he changed our complete cable from pole to home, changed our pair & port is also fixed some time ago, but the issue is finally blamed on the broken D.B and some haraam khor PTCL superior is not authorizing change of D.B.

So many complaints but to no use.

I'm even in contact with PTA & PTCL Islamabad Administration staff for this issue. In fact they have sent couple of emails to lahori PTCL management with big red/yellow fonts but still no use.

Any ideas?

PTCL cares on twitter is directly connected to the CEO of PTCL, who oversees it, therefore complaints forwarded through PTCL cares usually get resolved very quickly.

Sign up for twitter, if you haven't already, and then send them a direct message (DM). This is the best option for you right now, that has higher chances of working out than messing up your time with a local PTCL supervisor.

Also, you have to be VERY specific, for example, tell them everything including the fact that the local lineman says that the DB needs to be changed.

If you send them less information or hide anything, the matter would only be dragged out further.

Remember most of these guys are working on Rs. 20k to Rs 30k per month salary, and fixing client issues is the last priority for them. Nobody gives a 100% for Rs 30k per month.

I told you the easiest way. Burn the God damn D.P.

It has already broken and only providing shitty services to not only you but to all users connecting to that. They will change it within a day and your line stats will become even better to get 16 Mbps. Go for it guy, broken D.P is in no use for any one.

VDSL packages are the same as ADSL packages really no difference whatsoever the prices are also the same as well, the only difference is that VDSL is designed for higher speeds than ADSL specifically the upload speeds so it can hold more than 1mbit upload speeds. With 8mbit you should get 2mbit upload with 12mbit you get 3mbit upload and with 16mbit you get 4mbit upload and so on. but with an ADSL copper line since the max upload speed is 1mbit, you won't see a difference in upload speed after 4mbit. with VDSl however, you'll be able to get that 2mbit upload along with 8mbit download same goes for the other packages.

Now the difference between MB(MegaByte) and Mb(Megabit). basically, B = Bytes and b = bits. now remember 8bits = 1Byte. the uppercase and lowercase Bs just makes it easier to tell them apart. Internet packages are in megabits. so an 8mbit package should theoretically give you 1MByte speed or 1024KByte in download speed. Most devices show the download rate in Bytes so don't get confused if you pay for 4mbit and get 512KByte.

There could be various things causing your "Bad Pings" It could be that someone on your network is using the internet causing higher pings then normal, It could be something on PTCL's side be it routing to the servers or something wrong at the local exchange or something.

For anything regarding routing to a game server, you can post your own traceroute here and maybe others can give you theirs to see if it is something with ptcl and their shit routing or if it's something wrong with your local exchange or it could just be that someone is downloading some torrents on your network that could be causing the high pings again it's a 4mbit connection which is not really hard to completely saturate, one youtube video could completely use up a 4mbit connection.

There are a lot of things that can cause bad pings for most people it generally is bad routing from ptcl but even after that there are a lot of factors that could contribute to shitty ping are you on wifi? if so 2.4ghz or 5ghz band? have you tried connecting your pc/console via an ethernet cable and see if that fixes the problem? have you made sure no one else is using the internet? does it only happen at a certain time? and after ignoring all things that could be wrong with ptcl between you and the game server. Is it just that the game server could be having some issues? many things matter.

Just changed the VCI to 8 and VPI to 81 in router settings.

As far the speed is concerned i called them he said you are already on 4Mbps. Now i am getting 3.9Mbps on Speeedtest and downloading speed of torrents are also downgraded to 4Mbps speeds. Before that, i messaged their PTCL Cares Twitter, i guess he downgraded to 4Mbps. But in the router settings i still see Line Rates as 7165 Kbps as Downstream and 1054Kbps as Upstream.

I have 7162 downstream and 1092 upstream, I am on currently 4m plus smart tv but unfortunately my line is not capable of these high profiles that is why I am facing frequent disconnections after every 10 secs dont know what should I do..

Yes bro, I understand and this seems to be the last resort but honestly there are couple of things that are discouraging me to do so:

1). Ethically it's wrong, specially why should I be paying for all those people as well who are getting same shiityy speed from ptcl.

2). What if I pay this time but again after a few days/weeks, either the lineman or the internet technician breaks something on purpose to get more money from me?
