If your modem hangs, you wouldn't be able to ping it or access its setup page. If when your internet disconnects, check and see if you can do those two things.

Yes I can access the modem page and ping as well... so its just internet

Hey guys, i've been getting really high latency in online games since the past few months. I used to get a stable 170-200 ms but now i get constant spikes to as much as 1000 + ms. My line stats are SNR Margin (0.1db) downstream 120, Upstream 113. Attunement (0.1db) downstream 349. Output Power (0.1dB) downstream 136, upstream 59. Do i need to get pair changed on the pole outside or ask for a port change at the exchange ? Any help would be appreciated !

As far as I know the line is not good ... just get it fixed .. SNR really bad

It can be pair or it can be wire ... just complain or speak to ur line man if possible

After complaining for 2 days they have changed my upload speed but have also changed my download speed too
Previously it was 9215Kbps and 1093Kbps upload .
Now they have changed to 8215Kbps and 2093Kbps upload

Is this okay now? Or I just tell them to change downstream now?

They won't change downstream. Most new connections are given 8215 instead of 9215. You can always try and convince them though.

I was having 9215 before but my upload was 1093, now they have fixed upload to 2094 and changed downstream.. I will msg them and see what they. Atleast make 8304 so i get full 8Mbps

You have really bad SNR and Attenuation.
Get your line man to fix your wire. Normally changing pair at the pole resolves these issues.

Has anyone here ever tried to get their routing to europe fixed by PTCL? Since most of the gaming servers are located in europe. 200ms seems to be a very high ping. There were days when i had 170 but now its never below 200.
Share your experiences in this regard.

Is there a possibility to push PTCL to install optic fibers in your area? I can see atleast 5-6 WIFIs on my laptop which also means there are not limited internet users in this area which could be a possible excuse.
Kindly guide if anyone knows anything about this. I am desperate to get optic fiber as my primary use is gaming.

Not at all they dont know anything about routing. So forget about it.
For fiber optics i dont think they will install. PTCL marzi k maalik hain

To put that in perspective, while you can get up to 19 Mbps upload speed, the download speed is still max 30 Mbps on this line. This should be in excess of 50 Mbps at least as you are on VDSL. How far away are you from your nearest cabinet?

The DSL guy said that there is no port system now.

These were my line stats a while back, haven't checked recently.

Your line stats are significantly worse, but they're well within the margin of your 8Mbps connection. So stop worrying about your line unless you plan to get a 50mbps connection.
