Second, Work has also started in phase 4. They were digging in my street as well.

It sucks that it'll take another 40-50days though. I'm even more eager for Fiber now .-. They should finish my Middle of next month tops.

VDSL q chal nahi paraha? Rates show karta hai Downstream and Upstream k but Connect nahi hopata?

Send a Screenshot of the stats page. If they have indeed upgraded the exchange with equipment that supports VDSL all they would need to do would be to set up your port profile.
It might take them just a tad bit more time to figure everything out since this is very new. But, Only if they do indeed have VDSL. So, Do confirm this.

They dug up the majority of Phase 4 in a single day. I'm genuinely surprised by this. A total of 4 streets in one day.
Anyways, I sure hope It gets done by the end of next month max.

That means users will have to convert straight to fiber if they want more than 1mb upload speed or more than 10mb download speed.
DSL users can get up to 24mbit speeds on their lines (more like 10mb since the management here won't let you live if you have 20mb and a DSL connection)

First of all meri ghalti k mainy apna Area and City mention nahi kia, I’m from Karachi (F.B Area), and exchange Azizabad Exchange hai.
Secondly, Azizabad exchange 80% Upgrade hogayi hai as per exchange’s fiber manager and fortunately I’ve confirmed the availability of VDSL in my area and it’s available.
Aur aaj he mainy Exchange sy Modem bhi change karwaliya VDSL ka, they said just go and connect and your Vdsl will be working. I believed them, unfortunately ab masla yeh hai k VDSL2 mode Select karnay py Modem Internet sy connect nahi hota, just Connecting and 0.0.0.0 ki IP show horahi hoti hai, and Stats k page py downstream and upstream both are static.
Sirf aur sirf ADSL select karnay py Modem Internet sy Connect hota hai, as per them VDSL is activated on my number ab meri samjh nahi aaraha k kiya issue hosakta hai ? Exchange walon ko tou 10 baar samjhanay ki koshish ki hai par unhay samjh nahi aata they always say what they like to.

Exchange guys don't know shit about anything. I am from block 13, same azizabad exchange and I have been using 20 MB VDSL for a year now. May be your MSAG just got upgraded recently and they handed over you the VDSL modem. And for VDSL you need to get your port configured specifically for VDSL. ADSL default gateway is atm2.1 as far as i remember, but for VDSL they will change your gateway to ppp2.1. Just lodge a complain on 1218 and ask them to change your port to VDSL and they won't do it on their own, your modem is going to need settings as well. Banda bhejienge.

Alright, I was high on cocaine and mistook you for another guy on this forum (From my area).
Regardless. So, It looks like you can manage to sync on VDSL (Not with the correct sync rate for upload) but you can't get an IP when your line syncs on VDSL. After your router gets an IP the internet light turns on. (Confirm if this indeed is the case)

Try to give online support a go. Tell them that your line syncs on both ADSL and VDSL with the same rates (Mention the rates to them as well) and that you don't get an IP address when your line syncs on VDSL.
Also mention the low upload speed here so you'll get everything fixed in one go. You should get 5mb upload with the 10mb package on VDSL. I can't really confirm the sync rate for the upload but it should be somewhere along 5xxx.

I'm pretty sure (To my knowledge) that if your line syncs and gets an IP address on ADSL it should be able to get an IP address on VDSL as well and you shouldn't really need to edit/create a new WAN service.
Throw me a screenshot of the *AdvancedSetup>WanService* and *AdvancedSetup>Layer2Interface>ATM* pages.

Yes exactly, that’s the case. Can’t get an IP but syncs on VDSL easily.
Will give it a try tomorrow and gonna tell them all that, not sure if they work on Sundays or not? otherwise on Monday.

Even if you manage to do the settings in your modem, still your port needs to get configured on their back end broadband NOC (National Operations Center), which is located in clifton. Ab exchange ka koi kaam nahi, they just need to send the guy, who will then coordinate with the broadband NOC team on call while sitting at your place and do the settings, that's all.

So, I did some digging after I remembered a post on this forum a little while ago. It seems your issue is with the configuration of the modem itself. Not because of the port (Well... That upload speed is because of a misconfigured profile.)
Go to Twitter, Facebook, PTCL Livechat or maybe even call them up. And ask that they guide you through to set up your VDSL interface.
If they don't know how or are being total dumbasses. Just ask them for your PPP username and password and VLAN ID (You'll need it) and tell them to get your upload speed fixed at the very least.
I'm pretty sure someone here can guide you through the setup later tomorrow.

Edit: It will just be simpler if you can make someone come to your house and set up the modem again. Tell them that you've accidentally reset the modem or something and that your internet doesn't work now.
The guy will do the rest. If you can't wait until Monday, Try to get the PPP User/Password and the VLAN ID and I'll try to guide you through the setup. If everything is set at the exchange you should get an IP address (Which you should tbh). The only thing after that would be to get your upload speed up to 5mb. You can try calling 1218 tomorrow or tweeting [MENTION=24169]ptcl[/MENTION]cares and see if they respond.

I understand, but there are things unclear as of now, whether the port is not configured or the modem itself isn’t configured. Will have to sort them.
Khair I’ve my PPP Username and Password, and you can guide me so i’ll once again to see whether it works or not. The only thing missing from my end is VLAN ID.
User, pass hai meray paas par VLAN ID nahi hai, kiya karun unko call karkay VLAN ID maloom karun phir ?
And for Upload Speed, yes i’ll contact them for that as soon as VDSL starts working.

Haan kaam kafi tez chal raha hai kyun kay they have to complete it as early as possible due to cantt area na kiya tou phr app ko pata hei hai lol.

waisay ptcl exchange(basti) ko call ki kay fiber per convert karne kay liye he said come to exchange and book ASAP kafi rush hai so guys go to ur local exchange and book now pay 3k for existing and for new 12k.
