PlayStation Move sales have topped 4.1 million units, Sony’s announced today.

The announcement comes after Microsoft announced total worldwide sales of 2.5 million units for Kinect in its first 25 days.
“This number not only shows clear success of the launch of the new motion sensing controller but also indicates positive momentum going into the holiday season and to the year 2011,” Sony said in the press release.

There are currently over 25 PlayStation 3 games on the market with Move compatibility. The lot is only set to increase with the releases of blockbuster titles like Killzone 3, SOCOM 4, and No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise next year.

WOW its awesome what this little thing can do


Oliver Kreylos impressed and shocked us by showing that a single Microsoft Kinect could create some remarkably stout 3D video. He's back at it again, this time blowing minds and demonstrating that two Kinects can be paired and their output meshed -- one basically filling in the gaps of the other. He found that the two do create some interference, the dotted IR pattern of one causing some holes and blotches in the other, but when the two are combined they basically help each other out and the results are quite impressive.

4.1 millions SHIPPED are most probably for both PS Move Controllers AND PS Navigation Controllers. Besides, they had a head start of 2 months.
I like PS Move but the idea of buying MULTIPLE controllers for full experience is frustrating.

Nope, both the navigation controller and stand-alone PS Eye were excluded from those figures. It's either the stand-alone Move controller, the starter pack bundle (PS Eye + Move), or the console + Move + PS Eye bundle.

I like PS Move but the idea of buying MULTIPLE controllers for full experience is frustrating.

Well that's partially true, but most games work pretty well with the Move/Navigation controller combo. A 2nd controller is only practical for multiplayer gaming, IMO.

Sorry troll who does not know how money is made by companies, 4.1 million is the number of PS move SOLD to retailers, Sony has made the money it wanted and with move being practically unavailable in stores there a high chance that the 'sold to consumers' figure is also around the 3.5 to 4 million mark.

and junior this figure is only for the stand alone move controller excluding the PS eye, navigation controller and move bundles whereas the micrshit numbers include kinects and the kinects bundled with consoles

This is my first post here and I may be in the wrong section, please ignore as I am a beginner.

I just got Xbox 360S (250GB) Kinect from US. It only comes with Kinect Adventures. I haven't yet started playing it however, I have a few questions:
1. Can I use pirated (Rs.150~250) Xbox Cds or DVDs available in the games shops in Lahore?
2. Can I burn CDs or DVDs using Kinect games torrents available over the web and use them with my xbox?
3. Can Microsoft block my console or Kinect if I used any of the above mentioned pirated stuff or torrents? The reason I am asking this question is: original games are unaffordable and secondly most of them are not available in Pakistan. Moreover, I also heard one of my friends who got his Nintendo Wii blocked by using a pirated CD.

1/ yes


2/ if you know how to burn discs properly then yes ..

3/ yes the possibility of bans is very likely, so you'll need to take the proper precautions, which is why i would recommend you NOT buy discs from local shops as they're not patched properly. First off get your console modded from a pro, and get your games burnt from a pro as well who knows how to patch games properly. If you live in Karachi contact Faizy.

Trolling aside, Kinect clearly seems to be the superior product atm. The Move's been collecting dust on my shelf ever since i got it, I've only played Kinect once and can't get enough of it. Although the novelty does tend to wear off pretty soon for this type of product.
