i think you can get the malaysian made ps3 in either black, silver or white for about 28k in lahore. try just about any shop!

just called the dude i buy games from; he's saying the 40gb is now for 37k! he's probably bullshitting me, but he did have a little point about the dollar and all.

but yeah, anyway, 31k-32k sounds like a fair market price for a new 40gb ps3.

errrr, a 27 year old dude lugging his "daddy" around to bargain for him isn't the nicest picture in the world!

anyway, yeah, the dollar has gone up from around 66 to 75 lately. i know it's down to 72 now, but still. you have to take that into account. plus the shopkeeper makes a little money for himself as well.

and muaaz! i know! it's like gold! we should invest in some ps3 futures from now on.

i got it for 31k from yours game club. it was a 40gb white japanese system. i bought it in may this year. it was completely daba packed.

and yeah; yours game club is in ahad arcade. that's the plaza right opposite the shoppe in liberty where there's a dunkin' donuts as well.

hmmm. Do u know abt Sam softwares near kalma chowk? It is in centuary tower near Alfalah mini golf. It is in basement.Ive heard they give warranty on every console bought from their shop. This includes ps3 x360 and wii.

^Don't believe them in case of XBOX360 . Because if your 360 gets screwed , they will probably use a cheap method to fix it . e.g. Towel Trick . Just keep in mind of the cheapest price and a *NEW* console whenever you are going out to get one .

@ HamzaResisted & mugen1990 : You guys have mostly been making double posts , avoid that . I know about the Automerger but still , it's not that you should be careless about it .

which resolution is better on sdtv. Standard resolution or 480p?

Well , the bigger the better . 480p is the lowest I think . I use PS3 on 576p and it delivers pretty good results . So , go with the Standard one .

hmmm. So ill use standard resolution. But how much is standard resolution. Is it 576p? There is no separate option for 576p. Which region is urs muaz. Mine is ntsc-j.

Another question.
My firmware is 2.30. Do i need upgrade to go to psn. + How much time does it take for upgrade on 128k worldcall cable net.

1 : Resolution does not depend on the region-codes . It depends on your TV . Just forget about the 576p part and use the standard resolution .

2 : Yes , you will have to update for FW . And I don't know how much time it'll take to download on WorldCall . But , don't even think about using PSN on WorldCall

Hello guys... Wassup???

People I needed some information regarding credit cards and PSN compatibility issue. I read on boards and forums that only credit cards of North American region were acceptable on PSN regardless of which region your PS3 is. IS it true? And has it anything to do with our PSN IDs as well? I mean you've got a choice to choose the region which you belong to. In my case I've chosen North America. So does that matters too?

Finally, for those who do not have credit cards can still buy stuff from PSN by using PSN cards. Now I checked play-asia and they have cards with strict region restrictions. So my question is which region PSN card should I buy?

Your help will be extremely appreciated. Thanks

k Muaz. But how much time does it take on ur net and wat is ur net speed. U have latest firmware? I do not intend to play on psn. I just want to see wht it looks like. And does ps3 play rm or rmvb videos. If not then wht formats does it play. And which psn store is best to join.

you can't use local credit cards on american psn store. it does have something to do with the fact that your psn id is from the north america region. i'm think people who choose europe or asia region might also encounter the same problem, but don't know as no one's done it yet.

the play-asia psn cards are either for the japanese or singapore/taiwan/hong kong region. they will NOT work on your american psn id. however, american psn cards are now widely available in the united states at least; your best bet is to get them shipped from there or wait for play-asia or someone in pakistan to import them.

you don't wanna play on psn?! why not? it's nifty! get a faster connection and you'll get a lot more out of your games. trust me.

anyway, i think the ps3 plays wma, mpeg4, and divx. not too sure about them all, have to recheck. but it did play almost everything i had downloaded. except the dvd-ripped dual language anime i had.

that price sounds too good to be true. maybe it's slightly used. tell them to plug it in. see if there's a user account or some game save data on the harddisk.

either way, the ps3 doesn't have a high failure rate. so you can safely buy it if they guarentee it's brand new.
