The Bond vibe was obvious when the opening credits rolled out, with a lovely song. Immediately it grew on me, and it was a fun ride onwards. Its a genuinely funny spy spoof, something that got me unexpectedly.
Melissa McCarthy works best as spy, and had a great team to work with. That tone shift to '
Personal Bodyguard' was when i was having a blast. Those feisty insults, though. She's terrific with those drilling lines ... and Fashion. Those fashion designers deserve a medal for making a heavy lady like Melissa look '
that' good.
Rose Byrne as the asshole spoiled brat, with a lovely voice and sheer class, she was such stunning beauty. Freaking LOVED her. She needs to play more comedic roles. After a strong 'Mama Bear' presence in
Neighbors (2014), you won't dare taking your eyes off of her. "
I am not texting. I am playing Candy Crush. I have just made level 95.". That "
get your motherf*cking asses up here NOWW" scene; profanity definitely suits her pretty face.
Jason Statham made my f*cking day and night. That 90's makeup at the party, was easily the best suited style for this half bald guy. Bursting laughs 1000% guaranteed. This guy is a f*cking genius in comedy. Heck this guy might've discovered a new genre of comedy without knowing it. Spoofing his own f*cking self as an idiot secret agent; i need more, Moaaarrrrrrr. THE BEST f*cking time with
Jason and
Melissa onscreen. Those legendary lines. Those legendary f*cking lines .... Such Brilliance, my gawd.
I had such a great time watching it. Or maybe its been a while since i've watched a 'proper' comedy. Whatever.
7/10. After
Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014),
Spy is the only comedy (i have watched) which made me laugh my nuts off. The ending can be anticipated from a mile. So its not the jokes, okay maybe they are... a little bit, it's the cast, and the chemistry characters share on-screen. That's a rare trait which not many comedy movies share. I really REALLY enjoyed it.
