CerebralTiger No because I already watched 2 hours of leaked gameplay with most of the spoilers and I thought nothing more absurd could happen until I read the ending as well. Holy mother of steroid injections.

Anyhow I don't like to go through a game twice whether its watching or playing. I bought PS4 solely for playing Arkham Knight few years ago then completed the Uncharted series and TLOU and sold the PS4

Don't think TLOU2 is compelling enough for me to buy another console.

and apparently this streamer is being allowed in an official capacity to begin streaming the game tomorrow:

In a genuine concern, why would someone interested in playing the game spoiler free will watch their stream a day before the game officially launches? Or would it be for people who are still on the edge of getting it? Or people who do not own a PS4?

Streaming is a big industry yo. And I guess one way minors who can't legally buy a 17+ rated game, get to 'play along'.

But can't the streams be locked behind the age wall as well? But circumventing that is as easy as a small gate with open field all around it.
Who knows, I doubt a lowly youtube streamer paid for 'dibs' to start streaming the game early. I guess they (Sony) are seeing streams going up for the game already anyway so they're like fuck it go ahead.

People have been streaming the game on twitch for the last 2 days before the streams get taken down.

It's fine if one feels that way but if it is offered as criticism, as at least one review I've seen did, then I can't agree. From the very start, ND had made it clear that they were going for unadulterated violence and concrete realism to capture the feel of a world with abject indifference and abandonment. This is precisely a world where there is no sense to suffering and no meaning to violence. This is what a player is supposed to feel about this world. If all violence is justified and explained, it simply defeats the purpose. One could see this premise and say that this game isn't for me - that is fine. But I don't find criticism of such violence compelling when the game is designed around this theme and no one said it would be otherwise. If it is distasteful, it is supposed to be. One cannot project one's expectations of justice in a normal world onto a world where there is no justice and no order. This isn't just fiction. When a world is ravaged like it is in TLoU II, things work differently and there's little point in hope and expectation. I'm thinking of the Nanking massacre of Chinese by the Japanese army. One of the events in that massacre was two Japanese soldiers betting each other as to who will behead most Chinese civilians with their sword in a given time. The winner 'scored' 100 or more. This actually happened in 1937 and, of course, things much worse than that have happened. What was the point of that violence? Nothing. It was war and conquest and nobody gave a shit about anything. It wasn't right, obviously, but this world was a (in)different world - one we aren't accustomed to, thankfully, but also one that makes us rightly uncomfortable when we are exposed to it. This is what ND intends to evoke with their gruesome display of violence and they've been quite open about this imo.

its about getting that twitch audience hyped, a good number of people watching it, will be looking for his reaction than to spoil the game. and in the beginning of the game...I would say it took around 1.5ish - 2 hours for me, I felt that I left the tutorial area..and that area was semi-open worldish..So I suppose he wont be playing through the entire thing but a few hours in the beginning

Chandoo He is quite a big streamer. I think one of the first ones we gave a copy too aswell.. and he spoke of super nice things of control

It's a primarily story based game, 2 weeks after release is not nearly enough time that a lot of people would have played it.

Don't be a dick and post open spoilers, and try to at least label your spoiler properly. Not asking for much, just the bare essentials.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
