Digging up an almost two year old tweet, looks like fans of ND did pay attention
Anyway, TLoU 2 is probably one of the most unlikely games to try and pick apart for game design owing to the incredible variety of things which would comprise 'game design', but every youtuber has their opinion and a platform to post it on
Probably because I shared Bruce's tweet in the RDR2 thread, in which he praises this Nakie person's criticism of the linear structure of the game's missions. Had no idea back then that this guy's a white supremacist.
I mean the game has a pretty terrible cutscene to gameplay ratio and it's a linear adventure to boot. Makes it easier for the casual crowd to finish it.
The thing about the game's story is that it doesn't take a nosedive up until the last few minutes of the game, so ofcourse by then people who have already invested 18hrs+ in a game for a story that progressed good have no choice but to keep on going until the end, it is only after the end scene do they know what happened, hence the higher completion rate...IMO
60% is massive for a lengthy single player game. I think level design and gameplay has something to do with it as well, as it is engaging and diverse. And, of course, the narrative. Like it or not, it is kinda imposing and you do feel like unravelling it to see what happens next. More people want to experience it than any other PS4 game (especially the favourites of some critics). Can't blame them.

If you want to make bogus claims like a 'linear adventure' and 'cut-scene to game play ratio' etc, it doesn't get as linear as Life is Strange, however only 27% of owners have finished the story .. and LiS is only a 6 to 8 hour game.
Based ND have patched in TLoU Remastered to significantly cut down load times on the PS4. Now skipping cut-scenes saves ~18 seconds in the David fight which is supposedly one of the longest skip-scene loads.
Probably an early indicator of TLoU 2 on PS5. It's gonna be even faster there.
no idea how that is a steal by wasting 3500 rupees per month and for games that are removed before you can finish them off.xbox gamepass is garbage with no local prices

Just finished Diablo 4 season in hurry to play Fallout 4 but gamepass released another banger in the form of Star Wars on April 25th. Gamepass is a steal man.
Is it just me or people lately seem to defend every bad game design decision made by the devs and try to give bullshit reasons for that? Or perhaps it's because I'm on reddit and discord
