A little disappointed there isn't a native PS5 version with Dualsense support, but I'll take it! Been waiting for a PS5 patch so I could do a 2nd playthrough.
I was exactly in the same boat. Have been delaying the second playthrough for the ps5 patch. But I'm actually even more confused given that more improvements are promised. what if they have planned the next update to include RT and dual sense support. Dual sense really is a game changer.

As a dual shock 4 and series x controller player I have no idea what the dual sense fuss is all about hahahahah sometimes ignorance is a bliss

Yeah, it's best to wait a few more months to see what ND has in store for TLOU2. They're working on a Factions multiplayer game, but there's that 'what if' scenario where it may get bundled with an enhanced TLOU2 port for the PS5.

So far, most games have been using the adaptive triggers for immersion (high resistance trigger pull for heavier in-game actions, low resistance pull for quicker actions). Returnal is the first game to show that they can improve gameplay as well. The dual fire mode on the left trigger is a stroke of genius, and I really hope other shooters have similar implementations in the future. The sniper rifle in Call of Duty or Battlefield, for example, is one weapon that can greatly benefit from this.

As for the advanced haptics, it's great for both immersion and gameplay, as it greatly enhances your spacial awareness. I've been able to tell the position of nearby enemies in Cold War multiplayer just from the feedback relayed by the controller. 3D audio (provided you have a decent headset with good soundstage) further enhances this.

^Holy shit someone is working over time to oversell these features lmao

This stroke of genius has been ever present on the Steam Controller. Guess trying it at a friends place doesn't give enough time to figure that out 😂

Nah it's not on the Steam controller. It does detect two inputs (half trigger pull, full trigger pull), but doesn't do anything to accommodate them. The Dualsense's adaptive triggers soft-lock at half pull, allowing the player to actually use them for stuff like dual fire modes.

Iss tarah tou Steam controller also supports haptic feedback, but the implementation is a generation behind 🤣

Use kia hua hai outdated controller 😄

The part where the Dualsense triggers are adaptive is what essentially makes the dual fire mode work lol. Meanwhile on the Steam controller, "let me make sure I'm gentle with my trigger pull so I don't accidentally register a full trigger pull in the heat of the moment". Imagine comparing that to how it's done on the Dualsense. Yikes! 🤣

Yes, the Gamecube controller had this Steam controller-like full trigger button pull thing ages ago, and it was implemented better there. Such old tech indeed 😄

The innovation here is that the adaptive triggers make it much more practical.

The implementation thing was in my very first reply regarding the Steam controller. Necrokiller's imagining things going from A to B as usual 🤣

Narrator: And so, Necrokiller returned to his computer desk, the look of despair glaring back at him from his 21:9 display. He wants to praise the DualSense, but can't since it's not an innovation that originated on PC. What should he do?
  1. [Rhetoric - Medium 9] Continue to argue in favor of the Steam controller. The argument must be won using any means necessary
  2. [Logic - Challenging 3] Use hard facts and logical reasoning to prove the Steam controller's superiority
  3. [Empathy - Challenging 1] Concede that the DualSense is a game changer and that your judgement was clouded by the sunlight that drenched you in RTGI hyperbole
  4. [Drama - Legendary 18] Make an authoritative scene about the argument going places. Cite make-believe points of origin and destination to give a false sense of changing goal posts

Omg dat rant lmao 😂

I stepped on the Tigers tail too hard. Looks like after googling CerebralTiger realised after all that the "stroke of genius" is a pretty old "innovation" found in other controllers. That's a hard fact you gotta live with. Too bad I was here to point that out.

Happy hoping for other shooters to implement it. Not much of an issue with the SC API 👍

Played the game yesterday after almost a year to try the 60FPS patch and I must say that its really hard to play the game and not be in complete awe of what naughty dog was able to achieve on the last gen hardware. The game is an absolute stunner to look at. I dont think any current PS5 game looks as good as TLOU 2. Absolute banger !!

Well.. ummm.. Sorry for bumping up the thread, quite late to the party (better late than never though, right?) bought PS4 again just to play TLOU2 to find out what's all fuzz about .. was visiting here before getting my copy to build up my hype for the game. Tried to avoid the spoilers the whole year but you know people, ruining and shitting on the game everywhere so obviously someone spoiled the game for me. ( the first part about joel).

Anyway still couldn't hold myself to try this Masterpiece of the game, trust me I have been playing the game for 22 years and there are some games which blew my mind by their story, gameplay and stuff and this is one of them.

Yeah I know story is quite controversial but bravo to them to pull it off, people are too snowflake to handle such brutal story, what did you expect ? that's a post apocalyptic era dammit, any shit can happen.

Gameplay, sound specially in action scenes is just on another level, never experienced something like that before in a game. finished the game already but still can't stop thinking about it.

Yeah I know there are some flaws
Spoiler: show
( like Tommy coming back twice even after getting shot in the head lol and they never explained how )
, but minor flaws like that is just avoidable.

9.5/10, Loved it.

Welcome to the club the game was the reason I bought the 2nd PS4 Pro for inflated pandemic prices just to play this and it was worth it along with ghost of Tsushima... Which platform did you play it on? Ps4 or ps5?

I am waiting for ps5 for my second play through of both the last of us 2 and ghost of Tsushima
