Does anyone have any info about private universities (i am German national) in Turkey for dentistry, pharmacy or microbiology? Such as cost, requirements to apply for addmission etc. Plus points for any in Kayseri as I have relatives there. Second option would be Istanbul. Im having a really tough time getting information about these subjects and if unis offer them or not. Or any website where i could get info on this? Thanks in advance

so, I have a question about Locked bank account concept for financing oneself in a German university. I have been reading about it lately and what I understood is that I have to submit 7900 euros in Deutsche Bank from where i can withdraw 660 euros per month to cover living expenses, hence a total of 7900 euros for 12 months approximately.

Now, showing a bank statement of 7900 euros is a visa requirement and seems to be for the first year only. So what about the second year of the MS program? Do I need to show the amount of euros for the first year only? Could it somehow happen that I get a work permit in the first year and earn 7900 euros for the 2nd year of MS program?

Do I need to submit 7900+7900 for two years in a locked bank account in one go at the beginning while applying for German visa?

Thanks in advance!

according to my research and reading around, 8100 euros are to be deposited in your blocked account for masters programme and that is it. You get 650+ euros every month for your expense.
Also work permit is given along with student study visa and 20hours/week is allowed to work and hopefully you can earn 350-400 euros to carry your living expenses

According to the latest regulations, you have to submit 8140 Euros in Deutsche Bank. This is entirely a VISA requirement. For the second year, you can get an exemption if you have a job. Otherwise you have to show 4000 Euros, I'm not entirely sure on that.

Though if you are able to, you can go ahead and deposit 8140+8140 Euros in Deutsche Bank. There's nothing to lose.

^ Nobody is sure on that, and thats a problem. Managing around 16000 euros would be difficult to pay for both years in the beginning. Getting a work permit and earning for the next year is our best bet I guess.

AOA Guys. I want some help about studying abroad. I am a F.Sc pre-engineering student. I got very good marks in Matric and will inshallah get good marks in F.Sc too. I can goto Nust or UET with some effort but I don't want to be the guy who dies and the world keeps spinnin'...I've heard that no matter where you go in Pakistan, you'll get a job with a little pay and very less scope..So I want to study abroad..Should I take TOEFL and SAT after F.Sc? But at the same time,I know getting into Prinston, Harvard or standford is almost impossible for a PAKISTANI guy with almost no extra-curricular activities and only good grades so I don't want to lose my chance to get into Nust or UET too...Can anybody advise me??

I am assuming you are in your 2nd year,if yes then

you can apply abroad after asking your dad whether he can pay for the expenses, because except Ivies,Oxbridge and WUSTL (washington university in saint loui),No other university is probably going to provide you a nice hefty scholarship,And as you are from Fsc,applying in Oxford or Cambridge is not an option cause they only accept A-level scores, you can mail them personally about the possibility of apply on the basis of SAT but I don't think they'll accept it,SAT is only useful for American universities and few others like NUS etc...

And apply k sath sath you can keep a safe option here aswell with applying to NUST and/or LUMS...I am sure you'll atleast, atleast get enough marks in NUST's test to get into PNEC electrical engineering,PNEC mechanical Engineering or CS from SEECS etc...

prepare for SAT abhi se hee,buy Princeton SAT + College board's official sat book, prepare from it,prepare nice and good, and then take the SATs in October or in November,AND DO REMEMBER: practice as much as possible, after you have ran out of practice test from the book, torrent the practice tests from kickass.to :p,apart from that, try to participate in College societies, debate competition (intra college or all pakistan etc),MUN's waghera or something like that,Extra curriculers are not that you play cricket with a local club or go to swimming LOL,extra curriculers here actually means countrywide events/clubs/societies/other stuff in which you participate...

also Don't if you are going to apply why commonapp,OR ANY university's own app, don't leave the process towards the end,This app filling stuff can be really really frusterating, cause they are long as hell, and YES,remember,ESSAY/statment on purpose you would have to write in the app DOES MATTER ALOT,so be considerate in it,Ask seniors about your essay on collegeconfidential

NOTE: If you are not understanding even any one of the terms I am mentioning like common-app etc,Do search about them,AND PLEASE join collegeconfidential forums,It would really help you,Go to all the rankings websites make a list of universities you are going to apply, search about them...

remember

1. Matric/olevel marks/grades MATTER ALOT,I CAN'T stress enough how important they are to the them
2. SAT score does matter,But you can still cover it up with really good matric marks and a well composed online App and especially essay..
as a ball-parked value,I'd say to get into a top 150 uni except ivy leagues etc,try to score atleast 1900
3. The Essay/Statement of purpose REALLY REALLY matters alot,I can't stress enough how important they are to them...
4. TOEFL doesn't matter, try to score 100 in it,WHICH is quite it,just don't stress it,it doesn't matter at all,it is just for visa purposes but as every thing has some sort of limit, your score must not be below 90...
