So... E74

I got E74 after three long years of my Zephyr xbox 360. One of the first models, so I guess for a crap model, it lasted for quite a long while.

But anyway, I'm not ready to say goodbye/good riddance to my xbox just yet. I need to know how to fix teh E74 error, which I could't find here. I looked it up at the net and the fixes I get are either too practical, not that practical is bad but I don't really know if I should follow them. And either I'd have to pay some $$$ to get a so called fix guide. So here I am asking for guidance. What exactly should be my next move ? If any body knows a prominent fix or can recommend me to sent it out to a professional etc. ?

And If there is a prominent fix for E74, then I guess it would be cool if a guide regarding it could be posted.... =D

Well, thanks. =D I kept it at a horizontal position, kept it on a little wooden bench for it to be elevated and I gave it alot of air to breathe in i.e a very spacious area. And everytime I was done playing I would unplug the xbox from the adapter. I didn't keep it in an Air conditioned room, infact It's at my living room which is room temprature. That's all I guess, if it was enough to keep a zephyr model running for three years, a jasper would go very far =D

I think you should save the trouble.. and get a new JASPER chipset.

Even if you do get it working again, its going to temporary .. so whats the use

I can't afford a new 360, otherwise that would be the best thing to ever happen to me. But money makes the world go round and mone is something I don't have =d

I think u were very lucky like me.I have screwed my 360 realy hard for 2.5 years(day and night gaming).Then i got it repaired he shopkeeper told me it is the problem of ur hard drive its still not ur console.then it gave me 3 more months and then it died.R.I.P
Find urself a good expert i am sure it will give u three more months at least.

emmm mosses can help out , i recently had my new drive benq added by him ..pro guy , knows about the problem u are having.

i have added 4 external high speed fans to by xbox its the same model as urs but older XENON , MASHALLAH going strong , purchase date 2006 december.

play for about 2-3 hours on weekends and 1 hour on week days , once i played for full 14 hours gta4 with out any a/c also .

lolll . little bugger , give it to mosses , i am sure he can bring it back to life.

Okay, I'll see what to do next. Might as well start investing on a new xbox because this is bound to die anyway. I'll just have to buy a new Jasper Arcade and fit my old HDD and use my old controllers I guess.

I'll think about contacting asking xboyhot or mosses but right now, my first priority is to invest on a jasper arcade.

What would be the price of a jasper arcade btw ? I know it's significantly cheaper than other models but by how much, and would it be cheaper if I got it from the U.A.E, or should I get it from Pakistan ?

NO permanent solution for E74...but I like the fact that you'd like to squeeze every last bit of its being. There are three fixes starting with the best and ending with...the worst.

i. Heat re-flow method
ii. X-Clamp
iii. Towel Trick
