Oh and i do understand the value for money thing but as a random user here said (i don't remember his username and i am too lazy to search it now) most people don't care about those extra features that both iPhone 4S and Galaxy SII offers. Many people don't even look at the specs they just look for an OS they prefer for the ease of user like for me iOS is more appealing and easier to use now i am not saying that android is hard to use or anything i am just saying most people don't care about the extra features android offers. But at the end of the day both smartphones win and both of them are awesome ! i have owned a G2 in the past but i sold it as i didn't use it that much and i always used my iPhone for my daily needs and everything

There is a reason why people come on forums and post. The reason is that they are enthusiasts and are passionate about their stuff.
Nobody expects a 40 year old corporate executive to come on PG and start discussion Android vs. iOS.

One of my class fellows was like Iphone 3GS is better than GSII regardless of the dual core processor
I pointed it out some good features of android and managed to win some crowd but still these kids are dumb as ass seriously sometimes i feel like banging my head in the wall <_<

Stare at their phone and wonder what new clock widget they should use?

Despite what you think you'd be surprised to know not a lot of people care about such trivial things. And there are more people like this than the ones who do care about what clock widget they should choose. Hence you see more people with iPhones. For them it gets the job done.

The fact of the matter is there isn't a single reason for an 'average joe' to switch from an iPhone to an Android. Unless he's willing to cope with terrible battery, force closes, installing maintenance software, installing battery saving software etc etc. I've been using and Android for over two years now and its my fav OS, but recommending it to an average cellphone user? No way.

I agree Android is not for every normal user, 99.99% people don't even know what a ROM is but when people come asking for my help, I can't suggest a iPhone when they ask me to get the most out of their budget and that's why I suggest them a Android over buying a used iPhone.(considering their requirements, I mostly suggest Symbian phones under 20k range especially for girls)
Everyone wants to customize their phone but its just that they don't know how to, iPhone users in my school admit of getting bored with their devices but when they see my phone with almost a different experience every month, they get interested in Android but not knowing how to customize it.

Its not that iPhone gets them the job done, its just that it has become a obsession, everyone wants a iPhone whether they have to sell their kidneys for it.You ask them ever heard of a GSII and they will be blank but if you ask even a 8 year old he will know an iPhone but I have seen a significant increase in number of people owning HTC Android phones at my school over the past year.

The only OS that gets the job done in Symbian for every normal user, simple and easy to use combined with excellent hardware by Nokia.

I've said this before. Just because someone isn't interested in customizing the crap out of their phone or just because someone's life doesn't revolve around their phone, OR just because someone uses their phone for basic call/sms/facebook doesnt mean they have to subject themselves to the ugly, lame, outdated and shitty devices from Nokia. Most of these people HAVE the budget to afford a good phone (thats why they have iPhones) so why on earth would they then get a shitty ass Nokia phone? That's like saying I have a 1crore budget for a good car but since I'm not a car fan I'll get a Suzuki Mehran instead.

iOS is good. It's good at what it does. And I love it for its stability. And if iOS were available on a cheap phone, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

by that logic you've concluded all 'premium' brands are useless, and Apple IS somewhat of a premium brand in the tech world. I expect a 500,000rs Rolex watch to do more. But alas my 7500 casio watch can tell time, temp and a whole lot more.
An TBH I really don't know what you mean by 'do more'. I mean what do you expect a phone to do? App store has nearly half a million apps, majority of them are better compared to the same app in the Android market. You seriously cannot judge an OS by how much it allows you to modify it. The only thing that's holding Windows Phone back is apps, and trust me when it will get them, it will BE THE phone to buy. It allows ZERO customization but there isn't a single soul on this planet that doesn't agree that Microsoft has nailed it with the Metro UI.
