i see mr afq and i have similar interests =p btw afaq you didnt mention your components like processor used , Ram used , OS , PSU etc ... and you can make your graphs in microsoft word and print screen them to JPG people want to see graphs of the games your reviewing it will be more eye catching and why dont you compare this to ANOTHER card like the 4850 etc ? i mean this is a pretty one sided review it will be more interesting to see you put Ati VS Nvidia head to head

well guyz ATI 4850 n 9800GTX+ are both are some ...some time 4850 is lil higher n sometimes 9800gtx+ is lil higher...i used the both brands and i didnt faced any problems...

amazing results in farcry2 inbuilt benchmark, u getting 45FPS at the same resolution with same settings i'm getting around 37FPS. Hmmmmm, does farcry2 hav some nvidia cards optimization??? Coz according to the specs my card sould be well ahead GTS250 specially when my processor is overclocked to around 3.7Ghz and ram to 1000MHz. And Mr. AFQ is running everything at stock

I think he benchmarked Crysis at 1024x768 resolution, because a GTS250 only at this resolution will give you 55 frames Avg.

it only calculates fps but dont stress gpu.

now i benchmarked warhead in the following way.
results are in first post.


Here's how to do it:

1. Go to the Bin32 subfolder of crysis warhead.
2. Create a file called Benchmark_GPU_cargo.bat
3. Inside the file type :

@echo Running GPU benchmark 1
@echo Results will depend on current system settings
@pause
@echo Running...
@crysis.exe -DEVMODE +map cargo +exec timedemo
@type "..\Game\Levels\cargo\timedemo.log"
@pause

4. Save the file.
5. Go to the Game folder and then to the Level subfolder.
6. Go to the Cargo folder.
7. Look for a file named flythrough.tmd
8. Make a backup of that file and save it some where other than this folder.
8. Rename the original flythrough.tmd file to timedemo.tmd
9. Create a file in this folder named timedemo.log
10. Go to the Game folder and then to the Config subfolder.
11. Create a file named timedemo.cfg
12. Inside the file type :

demo_file = timedemo
demo_num_runs = 3

13. Save the file.
14. Create a file named benchmark_gpu.cfg
15. Inside the file type :

demo_restart_level = 1
g_godMode = 1
demo_file = timedemo
demo_ai = 0
demo_num_runs = 3
demo_quit = 1
hud_startPaused = "0"
sys_flash = 0
r_vsync = 0
r_nodrawnear = 1
demo
demo_time_of_day = 8
s_DialogVolume = 0

16. Save the file.
17. Go back to the Bin32 folder, and run your Benchmark_GPU_cargo.bat file.
18. Crysis Warhead will load up the level.
19. When it starts it hold down the SHIFT AND PRINTSCREEN keys on your keyboard. This will start up your benchmark run.
20. After the benchmark has finshed, close down warhead to see your score on the desktop.

You really need to specify which scene in the game you are running the benchmark on. Averaging 55fps in Crysis Warhead at Enthusiast 1280x1024 is kinda hard to believe. Were you staring at the skies in the bench run?
