That PSU is way overkill for your system. Your current system will be just fine with a 450W PSU. I'm currently running my PC which has a GTS250 with a Corsair VX450W PSU. Only go for more than 550W PSU if you want an SLI or Crossfire setup.

But if you have to have a heavy PSU then I would recommend Corsair TX650W PSU for Rs.9,000.

Guys i'm getting a used Q6600 (B3 stepping ) with 1.26 VID under warrenty. So i wanna know is it worth it to go for this processor?? I don't wanna go for any new models due to shortage of money, so i just wanna know whether this processor is gud enough?? The person who has got it has overclocked it to 3.6Ghz with 1.48 vcore, i will also be overclocking it upto atleast 3.4GHz with my Enzotech ultra X cooler with AS5.

You should have zero problems going to 3.6 yourself with that Cooler and paste. Atleast temp. wise ... cant say anything about your motherboard.

Just looking for some suggestion regarding laptops. I want to buy a new laptop (not a gaming one) just for the work and entertainment like HD movies etc.

I have a budget of 80K

In the local market I found these laptop kind of good:

- HP Pavilion DV5-1125 (contains dedicated Nvidia GPU)
- HP Pavilion DV6-1000 (no GPU)

but I heard about the DV5-1125 that its battery life is not that good :S

let me know...

i would say it is a wrong choice to go for a 3 year old processor......pg gaming entry level pc is way better then this setup.....however, its ur choice, good luck.....

that psu is better then any other psu available here including corsairs.....however, as burhan said, it is overkill for ur pc specs.....a 500 wtt cooler master extreme psu can handle ur system easily....

@ahmzii

Its your decision to buy but what you are getting is just crap in that budget. 21000 wasted on years old AMD Athlon ? Dont ... please.

@hassandx , Sir Ahsan: thanx brothers for ur suggestions.

My motherboard can easily surpass 400fsb so that's not a problem.

I'm just confused due to B3 stepping of Q6600 and it's thermal specs are 63c (according to intel),

Now i know that 63c is not the max core temp but it is the processor's heatsinks temp which is atleast 10c lower than core temps, secondly is there any performance difference between B3 and G0 stepping of Q6600. I need final words whether to go for a B3 Q6600 or not and need feedback from hardware guru's like Sir Ahsan, Fajoo, Nomad, Jayzzy, digitalism etc. (sorry if i forgot any). Thanx for ur help guys

While the latter stepping is better ... you need not to worry with this at all.

Jab ek banda chala hee raha tha 3.6GHz par so why are you worried about temp or o/c problems ? ... your cooler and thermal paste will kickass ... go for it!

Hi,

Just looking for some suggestion regarding laptops. I want to buy a new laptop (not a gaming one) just for the work and entertainment like HD movies etc.

I have a budget of 80K

In the local market I found these laptop kind of good:

- HP Pavilion DV5-1125 (contains dedicated Nvidia GPU)
- HP Pavilion DV6-1000 (no GPU)

but I heard about the DV5-1125 that its battery life is not that good :S

let me know...
But I think "HP Pavilion DV6-1000" has this GPU "NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS"
Detail Specs Here

Let me make it more simple for u.

HP Pavilion DV5-1125
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz (P7350/ 3MB L2 Cache/ 1066 MHZ FSB)
3 GB DDR II

NVIDIA® GeForce™ 9200M GS 256 Mb Dedicated Graphics card
HDMI connector
Now to HP Pavilion DV6-1000
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz (T4200/ 1MB L2 Cache/ 800 MHZ FSB)
2 GB DDR II

NVIDIA® GeForce™ 9200M GS 256 Mb Dedicated Graphics card
HDMI connector
All the other specs are pretty same. I have highlighted the major Difference in RED.

That makes it pretty clear now I think HP Pavilion DV5-1125 is more powerful than HP Pavilion DV6-1000.

Prices are actually same so I would Prefer the best buy would be HP Pavilion DV5-1125

And about the battery life. Both are batteries are Same "6-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery." They are same in size, shape and fits in one another easily.

Game ka game HD ka HD :)
(2t)
So the choice is yours. You are the person to decide so its all upto u.

Will pakgamers entry level setup be enough to play full hd 1080p movies without any problem?
^ PG entry level setup got a E5200 along with 9600gso with 384MB memory which is more than enough to play any HD content.
But to enjoy fully you need to get a decent 19"-22" LCD from Samsung which will cost you around 14000/- for 19" and 23000/- for 22"
The NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600 GSO GPU offers a powerfully immersive entertainment experience designed for extreme high-definition gaming and video playback. Play the hottest DirectX 10 games with awesome speed and watch the latest HD DVD and Blu-ray movies with brilliant clarity. Featuring next generation GeForce and PureVideo® HD technologies, the GeForce 9600 GSO GPU puts amazing graphics performance within your reach.

Yes it will without any problem. Its graphics card has a lot of juice. Gaming PCs always can do almost every other thing because they are relatively powerful on all sides ... CPU, GPU ... memory :)

If its JUST for HD movies ... you can get a cheaper setup just as good for HD movies.

But yea .. you might want to try your hand at PC gaming as well :) If you just want a cheaper one, then let us know ... there are some cheaper graphics cards for this.
