[Important] PakGamers Restructure

First things first
Forum is great love the color n everything..

My biggest suggestion will be that this is espically for new users because Gaming Zone Section is very confusing for them as they cann't differentiate between what is gaming central and what is PC hub etc

what i would suggest is that Pc hub ,xbox hub etc should remain where their actual position is but should also be put inside Gaming Central as mini links so that the new users will know and understand it better.

And someone tell the anime forum thread mod/admin plz change this topic name to anime as its posted in anime section.

i think main focus should be market place.. having a new sub where we can swap games easily that would be great like requirement should be having CNIC+FB file linked which should be given to that sub mod.. gaming is extremely expansive hobby in pakistan if there is a way i can help you improve lamme know

Anyways, I'd throw my two cents say that the theme needs to be traditional PG colors but with a flat look. Much like material design. A quick google search led to the image below. I personally think it looks dope.

As for other things, activity is slowing down in anime and sports (football) sections quite a bit. We tried to initiate a 'Let's watch insert anime name here together and give out our two cents' but it got scrapped. Something along those lines might work, I'm all up for that.

I do have some ideas about the theme in mind, I think PG can use some material/flat make over, considering how that's the new design language that's really, really popular.

Exactly, fore example, we have gradients on almost everything, which are things of past. :/

We can vote on and follow some things from Material Design.

Many people might not like me saying this, but to truly appear on the world map PG needs to get rid of any software piracy related discussion and should encourage it's user base to go ahead and purchase legit products. Hardware modding, home brew and other such discussions for sake of knowledge and learning are okay.

good so you guys looking for a change. its really good if you do some cosmetics changes to the forum but internal changes are also required IMO these are some suggestions:

1:theme cosmetics but dark colors are the core of pg so don't change them, bring new colors like theme pg Dark and PG light (Like we had before).
2:Exclude/ merge/ archive all non active sections like you know there are many sessions that are hardly used and some new hot ones so sort them out again
3:Make a new PG poll section, people these days are so busy you know unlike 2009-2010 when we used to discuss on something people now are always looking for shortcuts so a poll section will be used to start polls on different things like "Your COD IW Ratings" etc.
4:Gaming Section Reconstruction is really really required because honestly speaking gaming section at pg is really really dead. and for those kids who think its still there go visit our GTAIV, CODMW2, etc threads and they will see that we had like 100+ pages for big games in Official thread, so we need energetic mods there and section reconstruction.

some Internal Suggestions:
1: Both in Hardware Section and Gaming section mods should take the responsibility for latest news threads so if there is a thread people don't hesitate and may try to discuss it but if there is no thread maybe nobody will think to make a old thread unlike the old times. so mods should create all OT on games so that others can start discussion
2: Bring shoutbox guys to forums, i saw that most of the times people are there in the shoutbox but hesitate to come and discuss matters in the Forum so let them come in the forums by any mean and discuss, we need to find a way to achieve this.
3: Call older guys and lets see if someone can get back and make PG GREAT AGAIN. I myself tried so many times but couldn't really cameback due to very busy schedule. for most of the members including me its not about marriage but about professional life that don't let me comeback and start posting in PG but again i will do my best and maybe if some senior comeback we may find it encouraging and starting to comeback ourselves.
4: Last but not least, i have done it myself and watched the benefits of it so you should also do it, you should have dedicated Achievement mods or the mods should take the responsibility, search the users by the list of users and award them the achievements. when people get achievements they will comeback themselves and there interests in the forums will build forsure this is so imporant thing and core of the many games, forums etc

Facilitate WTB/WTS Threads By Keeping A Cap Of Admin/MOD Verification Before Thread Is Posted On Main forum ...We See So Many Post By New Users/Old With No Pics/ No Proper Rules Following And Admins/Mods Checking Them And Asking Each Of Them To Do Needful....That Way You Can Save Time And Buy/Sell Will Be More Secured/less Crowdy

SOLD Thread Shld Get Separated From WTB/WTS Section After Being Marked SOLD

I Suggest More Subsections In Computer Hardware and Others Buy/Sell Will Benefit People Looking For Stuff...

Also A Tag For Members As Per Joining date Will Make User Experience More Better (Senior Junior Etc)

Bump Time Shld Be Re-Considered And 48 Hours Shld Also Do Quiet Well

well i like the color scheme alot.. the only thing thats at times annoying is "text at time is hard to read with grey bg color" one thing that can be done is minimize the images and stuff so that the site loads faster. also the sections need to be a bit optimized. like there are still confusions btw pc hw and others sections.. at times threads like gaming headphones are moved to "others" sections by the mods. i think there should be some more clarity in section naming. ill provide more input when i get it in mind

a cosmatic change will go a long way --its the same color scheme since a loong time : - Some sections are nearly dead better to close them out - add a VR section as thats a in thing these days

My suggestion is to remove unnecessary sub-sections. Merge the food section with Chit chat, and education section with Jobs one.

Yes it does takes space but it's not a issue! so you don't have to worry about it.

Honestly, I love the home page. The animations (could have more animations), the colours, the background, they're all better than the forum.

If we could have the same "theme" and layout (padding/margins/font sizes etc) in the forum, it would give a way more cohesive look. Comments in the articles could correspond to a thread in the forum, can't remember where I saw this before.

Maybe a little restructuring/reordering of the sections based on which sections need more attention, and improve visual visibility as well.

Like the Tech Dept and Creativity could go before the Lifestyle section.

Farfetched: A reddit-like post ranking system would be great! And chain of replies inside each thread. Think of each Reddit post as a thread, and comments as the posts inside the threads. It would be great to be able to follow a conversation chain instead of having a flat list like present. Less chance of derailing the whole thread.

We are working on the comment part e.g comments will appear in a forum thread when someone comment at the article available on the main site..more integration between the main site and the forum!

Bro 1st u guys need categorize the forum sections with the most viewed and followed..
this was u guys will know which section is the most used section like market place as we all know..
need to have a very spot on check for the market place ppl..
and yes software and hardware section should be kept as one..
coz its better that way......
We need to have a better control panel for managing our inbox and sent items...
it should be a clear drop down menu....with the name....and yes we should have our own picture uploading area....
this really needs to be looked into..
and the forum searching criteria i think is the worst on pg...
u cant find any specicfic post...
its just horrible there....
soo these are some concerns from my end...
and yes there should be a live chat box...
for every section......
in which memebers only can view how many members are online viewing the thread..
and so can have an open discussion....

definitely needs a cosmetic overhaul. i know all the oldies will be deep in the member berries (south park reference) but we need to get with the times yo.

but theme should definitely remain black orange cause that like the trademark for pg.

forums need a bit or restructuring as in i think that some subcategories are unnecessary and can easily be merged with other other subcats.

also i think some categories need to have dedicated member to that categories made incharge so they have make those categories alive again like the dev section. hardly gets a post.


also you guys need to give some member devs access to the server so they can contribute to making positive changes or building api and creating apps.

Devs who wants to contribute for PG like building some apps etc can contact PG administration, they will facilitate them, there's absolutely no need to provide anyone with the server access nor it's required, provide us the details like api and setup instructions and we will do it.

Keep the design minimal, mostly flat with contrasting colors.

Icons, like the ones for PC Hub, Xbox Hub are mostly black on a gray-black background which doesn't look good.

Remove "Activity Stream" from the right hand side of the screen. It looks cluttered and offers almost the same functionality as "Latest Posts" at the bottom of the main forum page.

Overall the forum looks a bit cluttered with the current theme. I am willing to see some minimal designs for this forum, because as of right now, the design feels very '2012-ish'.

Apart from this, the recent steps the admins have taken have been excellent. I can definitely see the fresh motivation to improve this forum
