Since we're posting choice quotes:

Game Revolution - 3.5/5

Although it crafts a wonderful narrative in an awe-inspiring world, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, through its stubbornness and familiarity, sometimes feels like a “best of” compilation of its predecessors without being the best of them.
RPG Site - 7/10

Odyssey suffers in the same way Origins did as it searches for an identity within both the stealth and RPG genres. We obviously deeply appreciate the addition of such RPG mechanics and Odyssey often fines a nice middle ground between the two, but it ultimately isn't consistent enough on either spectrum to fully flesh out what the game could potentially be. If you enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Origins or want a game you easily sink over eighty hours in through exploration alone you will probably enjoy Odyssey, but if you’ve grown tired of the general monotony of the series you might want to wait until Ubisoft does something more innovative with this IP.
The Escapist - 3/5

As the game goes on, more and more quests are required to be completed to move on and frankly, I’ve found it exhausting. It’s hard to shake the feeling that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a game obsessed with making the player eat their vegetables.
Digital Trends - 6/10

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features a rich, lush world lessened by its repetitive activities. Though the main story is compelling, completing it requires you to participate in a massive amount of level grinding through less-than-stellar side quests. There’s plenty to do in this world, but a lot of it feels like busy work that fights to stay exciting or compelling. Odyssey is yet another open world game that misinterprets the meaning of more content.

Can anyone confirm the pricing of Ac Odyssey standard edition on Steam Pakistan region? I am seeing $56 at the moment, which is odd since the standard versions of Farcry 5, Ac Origins, SOTR and other AAA titles have usually been $39 on the Pakistani steam store when I bought them at the time of their release.

Its $56.7. Ubisoft's prices fluctuate more often than the rest.

The price were updated later. As far as I know the prices are selected/updated by the publisher.

What I am worried about is whether my GPU R9 270x 2gb would be able to run it? Ubisoft stated the R9 285 as the minimum to play the game at 720p. On the other hand, they recommend the Gtx 660 as the minimum Nvidia card that can play the game. However, the 270x is slightly better than the Gtx 660 in raw performance. So I am not sure whether I should buy it on the PC at all, lest it may not run unless I get a better GPU. Also, my Gpu can run Ac Origins with med settings at 1080p at 30+ frames, and Odyssey uses the same game engine.

I can also get it on the PS4 but not sure how the game performs on it. Will have to check. I don't have a PS4 pro though.

Huh (sighs)

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

I dont think its going to be much different than AC Origins graphics wise, it looks exactly same in images and gameplay videos. You can try it and refund it if it doesnt work properly. (sm1)

[h=1]Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has its own tribute to the battle royale trend[/h]

[h=2]Greek hero takes on 99 other warriors in Fortnite-like quest[/h]

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is packed full of quests and missions. Sometimes they’re rewarding, multi-layered stories with their own cast of characters, and sometimes they’re low XP-yield, fetch-and-carry cut-outs.
There was one quest in particular that caught my attention, when I played the game forPolygon’s review. It’s called “The Battle of 100 Hands,” in which warriors from all over the ancient Greek world fight to the death in an extended arena. It’s basically a Battle Royale tribute.
While Battle Royale games are generally multiplayer affairs, this is strictly a single-player mission. Odyssey’s protagonist Kassandra (or her brother Alexios) comes across a street hawker, rustling up entrants to a big showpiece battle. Kassandra can choose to take part, with a big pot of Drachma for the winner (as well as a nice XP boost).
Drakios, the quest-giver, sells the event as “very deadly,” and “a last-person-standing type of affair.” Kassandra enters a mini-world made up of a canyon, elevated wooden walkways, a cave and a beach. The 100 competitors begin by fighting pell-mell against anyone they encounter, but as their numbers thin out, some of them band together to take out Cassandra.
Eventually, the event starts to feel less like a Battle Royale and more like a standard run-and-slash mission, but it’s still good fun, and a cheeky little nod to modern gaming mores. And if you choose to play Kassandra as a glory-hunting egomaniac, victory is definitely another bow in her quiver. Only trouble is, the event is not as it seems, and Kassandra’s victory turns out to be Pyrrhic, at best.
You can follow ourAssassin’s Creed Odyssey coverage here. The game comes out Friday, Oct. 5 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

Avg resolution: 1700p on XBX and 1440p on PS4 Pro
Both do better at hitting 30 than Origins with minor drops (though DF video only covers the starting hours of the game)
XBX has better shadows at distance but both have same LoD and pop in range
XBX also loads quicker if you take the eagle far off and return to the player, Pro takes 3, 4 seconds to load the location.

Performance starts @ 7.15.

DF doesn't recommend the base console versions. Seems pretty bad to me. Your mileage may vary.

This is one case where it looks like the game may have been designed with the mid-gen consoles in mind. The base consoles (Xbox One specifically) are pretty bad in comparison.

I am currently in middle of it..and I actually quite like the game as of yet.

this is still very assassins creed - but there is a layer of something deeper aswell ...

there are more gameplay systems in there than you a can throw a rock at, things arent as polished, looks as pretty as, or has coherrent design as....lets say god of war - but the game is somewhat fun.

I actually go looking for them when there is a bounty on my head :p.
You will always find them running towards your way when you see via the eyes of Ikaros. Also normal enemies are fun to fight to, sometimes its hard to predict if there moves can be countered or not.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
