Tbh, I liked it more than I expected because of the Spartan battles and the possibility for an amazing storytelling through RPG elements. Other positive and negative points for me:

+ Ancient Greece looks great even though it's a makeup over Origins. I'm historically and philosophically interested in this place so I do have a bias here (they showed the philosopher Socrates!).
+ Two main characters (one female which I liked until a friend told me that Spartan women weren't allowed to fight. Need to confirm this but then the game isn't claiming to be historically accurate).
+ The main quests could be far more interesting and varied given the context of the Paleponasian war and other political issues of the time).

- Stealth and combat gets quirky at times in Origins which really needs to be imporved
- Long load times should be improved
- Climbing and parkour are let down by occasional glitches, especially when you have locked a target. Hope it'll be improved.
- The worst thing in Origins which makes me dislike it a bit is level restricted main quests. For each main quest, you have to play multiple side quests to level up. This really needs to go.

Even though i pretty much expected, but this still looks way too too similar to Origins. I really loved origins but this just seems that I'll be replaying origins all over again.

[h=1]Assassin’s Creed Odyssey season pass will include remastered Assassin’s Creed 3[/h]

[h=2]There will also be two post-content story arcs and more story quests[/h]

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is shaping up to be one of the most robust and expansive entries in the series. While already set to introduce new gameplay elements to the series, Odyssey is also set to get a whole host of post-launch content.
Ubisoft announced today that after launch, Odyssey will get new story quests entitled The Lost Tales of Greece, as well as in-game events available to all players for free. Season pass owners will also receive two, full story arcs and a fully remastered edition of Assassin’s Creed 3, which will also include a remastered edition of the PlayStation Vita game Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation.
The first Odyssey season pass story arc will drop in December 2018 and is entitled “Legacy of the First Blade.” It will explore the predecessors of the Assassins and the origins of the hidden blade weapon.
The second arc will be available Spring of 2019 and center around the lost city of Atlantis.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey comes out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows on Oct. 5.

[h=1]Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is the second game to stream to Nintendo Switch[/h]

[h=2]In Japan only, however, where players may rent it or buy[/h]

The Nintendo Switch can run games that are technically too powerful for the system. This was put to the test when Capcom published a streaming version of Resident Evil 7 for the Switch back in May, and now Ubisoft will try the concept with Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.Like the Resident Evil release, this will be in Japan only.
The announcement was part of Japan’s Nintendo Direct, not the one here in the U.S. Kotaku noted (citing Siliconera) that Phantasy Star Online 2 had been streamed for the Switch in Japan back in April, as well.
While Odyssey on the Switch is not coming to the West and there’s no indication this region will see streaming games any time soon, it at least shows Nintendo’s console has a capability similar to Sony’s PlayStation Now service, which turns four in January.
It’s also possible that the Japanese market or customers’ purchasing priorities make this viable for third party publishers in Japan, where it’s less workable in the West. Resident Evil 7 was offered as a rental, after all, getting half a year for about $20. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is being offered as a daily rental (roughly $6.50) and a full version. Western audiences may be more inclined to pay fees to stream games if it’s for an all-you-can eat subscription, like PlayStation Now, as opposed to a game-by-game basis.
Here’s the announcement made for Japanese viewers, for those interested (or if you speak/understand Japanese). The cloud version of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is launching the same day as the other versions of the game worldwide, Oct. 5. In the west, users will get it on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

[h=1]In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, civilians fight back[/h]

[h=2]You can kill them — but don’t[/h]

“Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent” is one of the tenets of the Brotherhood of Assassins.
But Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes place some centuries before those rules existed at all. It stands to reason that accidentally side-swiping civilians in the middle of a heated battle isn’t a game-over condition.
In fact, sometimes killing civilians is self-defense, because said civilians are kicking your damn ass.
Being able to aggro civilians isn’t new for open-world games, but it’s pretty new for Assassin’s Creed. In previous games, your interactions with civilians ranged from pickpocketing them to fist-fighting them, but you had to beware — a misplaced hidden blade could de-sync you and send you back to the last checkpoint. Ezio did not stab those people in the throat!
In Assassin’s Creed Origins, there didn’t seem to be consequences for hurting civilians, though there was a pop-up warning the player that Medjay were not supposed to kill the innocent. Meanwhile, any civilians you whacked would immediately flee the scene.

Ubisoft Quebec/Ubisoft via PolygonBut in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, I often find a furious villager joining in heated battles with Athenian guards. They’ll initially run — to grab a weapon — and then they’ll be back, brave and foolish, to pit their brooms or tiny knives against your sword. Sometimes you can’t help but kill them, man. They’re just there.
The first time that I noticed a man had begun beating Kassandra over the head with a frying pan, I laughed out loud. Every time I accidentally antagonize a civilian is ridiculously funny. I want to tell them they shouldn’t bother beating me with a broom, but there’s no time for such niceties in war.
The best I can do is try not to hit them again.

God damn the reviews for this game are pushing me over the edge. I loved Origins and cant wait to play Odyssey but given the scale of the game I am sure I'll not be able to finish this before RDR2... I wonder how much RDR's release would impact other big titles like COD and BF V.

Nah man. From what I have read the main story itself takes around 50 hours add side quests to it and the play time would be around 75 hours. No way in hell i can put that much game time within a span of 25 days. Plus the game looks so good that it deserves to be played without being rushed for another game. Dont think there is anything after RDR for atleast a couple of months so Odyssey would fit just right after I'm done with RDR.

If Odyssey takes everything good about Origins and makes it better, as GamesRadar claims, shall I even bother playing Origins before I give Odyssey a shot?

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
