I guess you are under 23yo? Is that so? You'll like 212-CH it's just you will start to develop taste after 25 or 27 for some bossy kinda colognes. Top of it being oriental Boss, Kouros, Organza, Mont Blanc Legend and stuff like that. Young men do have a thing for spicy-fruity kinda scent and it's always like that.

I used to like Lacoste Red. It used to be my #1 and now i don't even touch that bottle and it's been like a year or so.

212 is a hit among young men and i do always tell you guys to test while recommending 4-5 colognes at a time. AdG being an exception!
Getting it from abroad so testing isnt an option. Anyway, phew.. I took your words out of context.

Anybody here have a thing for concentrated perfumes?

Oudh, Khash ittar or Modern mix like Shamama

They last long but finding the right thing is not easy.

Havent come across a decent Oudh or a derivative scent yet.

All of em which I've tested either smell strangley cheap, or make you smell like a darga.

SEvolution: waddya mean only young people like 212??

I think its absolutely amazing. Your point thus stands void -.-

Genuine Oudh is one hard to find thing in this part of the planet.

This season is suitable for Oudh (winter and extreme cold situations) as it's essence is too warm and can even cause nosebleed if applied on the wrist and instantly snoozed. Haha! bachon ka khel nahi hai Rs.1lac per 12ml bottle bhi dekhi hain

Shamama is one hell of a fragrance. Buy it from Mushk Mehal located opposite to Madina Centre (Levi Outlet) try out 5-6 variants and get the best one.

About 212. I will leave it up to personal preference.

Hey! So I went to this shop Saffron in Rabee center, actually didnt intend to go there, just went to get shirts. Anyways of the colognes you recommended he had Armani Eau De Perfumme Armani Code and Lacoste Essential. And a few others, didnt like mot except Armani but I am not sure if the price is right (it was 7.5k) and wether it'd be original?

Have you used Armani Code or the other one yourself? What do you think?

Big Rock Candy Mountain.
My limited knowledge tells me that we should only spray EDT 4-5 times. :S
It depends from fragrance to fragrance, how well it projects and lasts and also your body chemistry itself. I generally spray twice on the neck, twice on the chest and once on my shirt itself. That is 5 times for every cologne. However, I do spray alot more occasionally than the average guy too like I probably average around 8 sprays. And get compliments all the time. :D

But I have been asked twice (both times wearing Issey) that if I showered in cologne...lol. So I learned that you gotta use your own judgement with every cologne as each is very different.

Curve is a pretty safe fragrance to over apply. It will not annoy others too much if you go crazy with it. Also you nose will adjust to curve VERY quickly so it will seem like it vanished, but it doesn't.

Remember: The whole freaking room should NEVER be able to smell you. Only people 4-6 feet away and that is being generous.

nope thats a negotiable price. See how much you can break him. No idea abt originality, but buying from some reputed place atleast has some surety is genuine.

Le me.

But not everything. I'm usually picky in oudhs and ittars.

Recently smelled one and instantly fell in love with it. It was called ' Mancera Paris Gold '. Although the love was really short. After seeing the price tag, I quietly turned away. -__-

Any suggestions in that aspect.

What's this Creed brand? It's very popular apparently, and very expensive too.

I've always wondered, when exactly do you wear perfumes and when exactly does a deo suffice?

(and by when I mean on what occasions :p)

Stay away from that and that's that.

@Applying cologne stuff.

For issey, AdG, Black XS, Light Blue i spray thrice on the shirt (both armpits and inner button line of shirt) that's it. While CK One and other stuff which tend to fade away fast i do spray 5 times once a day on inner shirt, elbow joint, neck.

Works for me everytime and afaik won't work for everybody but still it's worth a try.

Armani Code yes but when it used to be half of this 7K mark

I'm a bit amazed to see prices have shot up or these guys are full on loot mode.

Glad to hear you liked it.

Lacoste Essential is good but it takes time and imo it's not for you cuz you are too young for it. It's a long lasting fragrance and won't fade away just like that a bit dense for my taste.

I would suggest go out and test few others too and keep checking on code. If you liked Code then go for spicy fragrances as i told in my first post you'll tilt towards spicy-fruity fragrances and spot on my friend ;)

I don't know much about Lahore but Junaid Jamshed outlets do have a lot of top-notch variety and i do expect there must be same variety available with them.

Unfortunately its been discontinued. :< I had like 3 bottles of the stuff which have slowly but finally run out.

Its a perfumery from the middle ages, before the partition, light years ago. Some people swear by it, most do not even know it exists. Their products are not available in Pakistan. The price doesn't help, Rs. 20,000+ Not something one would wear on a regular night out, dinner, etc.

Why has SEvolution suggested to stay away if its so precious? I saw a couple of Creeds for sale here in Lahore last night.

I need to give an epic gift to a 40 yo male.. and anything mainstream like AdG isnt going to cut it.

The shop is quoting ~ Rs. 10K each for Creed Himalaya and Creed Tabarome Millesime, whereas they're worth 31K and 26K respectively online.

Fakes?

That is sound advice. Always apply cologne to the skin ( neck and wrist, in my case, followed by rubbing both wrists and wiping over my shirt. This way the fragrance lasts longer and i dont smell like i took a bath in a tub of cologne. ). Also like you mentioned your cologne reacts with the chemicals and oils found naturally on your skin.

Colognes higher in oil content than alcohol will always last longer, which is why the fragrance of oudh etc tends to stick around for days.

No idea why he suggested to stay away.

Personally I would not buy them from Lahore, specially if the price is 10k, how large is the bottle? 70ml?. Where is this shop?

Ok here we go. What you will read from now it's just my opinion and that's it.

Only fragrance that impressed me coming from Creed was Aventus (not in Pakistan, If it's ever about a cologne costing around 25k for 100ml) that too i found it to be worth spending 25K on.

They are simple nothing too exotic.

In most cases price is not justified. Nothing out of the world if you are going for Windsor, GIT, Silver. It's a niche house which is considered worldwide and keep-it-simple kinda theorists. Creed = designer crowd pleasers done a bit better.

Other houses to consider (Only if you are going to get it from states or maybe Dubai) lined up with their vintage which i found to be the best imo.

- YSL (Kouros line)
- Chanel (Allure line, Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree, Egoiste)
- Guerlain Vetiver
- Azzaro Pour Homme
- Dior Homme
- Tom Ford Tuscan Leather

Amouage, Histoires de Parfum, L'Artisan, Hermes, Malle and much much more.

So, Creed sets no bar and is not a benchmark to begin with.
