I have a slim 160gb. It was working fine until yesterday when i turned it on, the green light turned off after only 1 second, shutting the console down. Every time i turn it on, the green light switches off automatically, when i press the power button, it shows the standby red light, but when i press the power button again, it does the above mentioned thing. I dont know what kind of problem it is because it doesn't even get ready to boot. Anyone know about whats wrong with it? Help would be much appreciated.

Today when i turned i on, it started but after shutting it down and again starting it, the same problem happened. I think its having a power fault or something.

Hi guys, need some help regarding ps4
i have a 1000W ups ,i use it in narrow mode so that my pc or ps3 dont switch off as lights go out
so that i can switch them off properly
BUT the ps4 doesnt stay switch on ,it jus starts make some noises then i take the power off,
i just want to shut it off properly,any comments ?

4 Month ago my ps3 start flickering the screen with hdmi port and after 1 week it stopped working with a message unsuported signal i did all i can but i was not able to fix it so i switched to PS3 Component cable it was working fine but last night it stopped working with my sony tv only sound was working no picture i checked the wire but nothing happened so i switched my tv with another sony bravia tv same result sound but no display but when i changed my sony bravia tv to changhong ruba component cable worked so whats the deal with my ps3 ? can anybody help ?

Well can any one provide tips for re-balling a ps3 chip?

I JUST need to replace my ps3 chip with a new chip i have the replacement chi re-balled already.


And a guy i knew have re-balling machine.

But he is scared himself that he will damage the contact points on the motherboard while lifting the chip.

I get video output from the composite or component cables but not from the HDMI output. it used to work with HDMI but not now.changed HDMI cable but still getting blank screen.

Got 40GB NTSC/J PS3, The problem is whenever i switch on my ps3 (when it is cold), it switches on with green light after 3-4 secs approx three beeps one brief glimps of yellow light then flashing red light keeps going on. and when i touch the power button it becomes steady red light. i have to do this 2-5 times maybe just once and then my ps3 switches on normally and i keep on playing for hours without any problem (Also to mention my ps3 never turned off by itself during gameplay --> usually as people say due to over heat). My ps3 never showed flashing red light during game play as i switched off my ps3 whenever its fan picks up max speed.
Does anyone of you guys facing this problem???

i have bought PS3 slim 120gb(non-jailbreak)
model no : 2001A.

I sent the PS3 to faizy for downgrading on previous saturday .
According to him the PS3 is working perfect after jailbreak .
I got it today form him after a week(after a long wait) .
When i turned the PS3 on , there was no display.
have tried tips(from faizy) like restoring the display settings by holding the power button etc .

The problem :
when i turn on the PS3 it gives green light .
but no display.
no controller sync.
HDD activity light turns on(orange) 2 times for a few sec after that no HDD activity.
Reads the Blu ray game disc .

does any body know the solution??
pleaseeee help.

faizy says ship the PS3 back to me i will fix it .
but neither want to wait for another week nor any more charges(shipping etc because it didnt even work for a single time)

PLEASE HELP .
if any body knows the solution, guide me.
it is really urgent as i have only one month of vacation period left

your ps3 problem is RSX chip is some Ball damage, just fix only for needed to Reballing.

Even I booted my PS3 after about three months.. and facing the exact same problem.. I know that HDMI port issues are very common in PS3 but the thing is it detects the HDMI port and running perfectly on 480p.. Though the screen gets blank if I choose to switch to 720p.. So is my HDMI port busted?
