is the drip near the drain pipe or the other side? if its near the drain pipe then yes it could be that the pipe is loose or the drain is clogged or drain pipes is blocked from outside or the level is raised a bit which makes the tray overflow.
a simple check to check if coolant is low is that half of your condenser will be cold/wet and other half wont be.
dripping also happens when inner condenser is dirty, i had a dripping from middle area of my AC i cleaned the filters and cleaned the condenser with a toothbrush as well and then stopped the dripping.
by the way 10 year warranty is really good if they dont have any hidden conditions.
The drip is near the drain pipe and right where the drain pan is (under the evap coil). There's no water dripping from underneath the unit on the wall, just the front part of the AC.
Well, I haven't checked the evap coil to see if half of it is cold but I do not believe it is low on refigerant as the condenser outside does not have ice on either pipe. Both pipes are cold to the touch. As for the inner coil being dirty, yes I can see damp dirt accumulating on the far right, and the left portion also looks like it could use some cleaning. So I'll try to clean the coil with a toothbrush then, along with the filters and condenser coil outside, to see if that makes a difference.
Do I need to dip the toothbrush in a solution mixed with water? Surely *not* baking soda as coils get damaged very easily. The last thing I want to do is cause a leak.
Thank you everybody for the timely feedback!
Update: Got the Kenwood KLV 1815S. Disappointed with the cooling. Had it on for nearly 90 mins and it did not cool my hall properly. I used to have a 1.5 ton SG split AC there which worked great. I think the Kenwood may be low on gas because its kicking out a lot of water from the drain pipe, but not cooling at the same level inside. Plus, I noticed the copper pipes on the condenser unit are not cold to the touch, just cool. As far as I know they should be cold enough to make you want to move your hand away after a while.
