This one is rumored at the moment but if nvidia really introduced the 3gb version of gtx 1060 @ 149$ and if it really beats or competes with the polaris 10 rx 480 and rx 470 then nvidia is for sure going to crush AMD and its polaris hype...... Interesting times ahead ........

The 3GB version is supposed to compete with rx470 it won't be anywhere near rx480 at the price of 150$. That's a joke.

sapphire RX 480 8GB is selling for 1130 AED in dubai that is roughly equal to 32000 Pak Rs. Expect similar or higher prices here in Pakistan. Getting VR capable cards for 199$ (20K Pak Rs) is still a dream for Pakistanis......... As in Pakistan when a vendor introduces a card at higher price they rarely lower down its price during the life-cycle of the card....

The reviews are out, gtx 1060 performs better than gtx 970 and is almost equal to gtx 980 though at dx 12 rx480 and gtx 1060 are almost equal with rx 480 being better by few fps.

Rx480 is barely behind in Dx11, Ahead in Dx12 and about 50$ cheaper if you dont care about more than 4gb vram.

But i guess it'll come down to the price point in Pakistan.

Yeap. Rx 480 seems to be a better choice than gtx 1060.

All the benchmarks I have seen have 1060 performing 12-15% better than the RX 480. At much lower temps. If the cards release at relatively the same price here than the 1060 definitely be the better option.

Nope. Neutral reviews show both cards performing more or less the same with 1060 slightly faster in DX11 games and 480x being faster in Newer DX12 Games. Also note that most cards being reviewed are 1060 founders edition that comes at about 299 dollars, 100 more compared to 200 dollars priced 480x that performs equally good and shows better prospects in terms of future gaming.

12-15%? Can you post where you got it from.

It must not be more than 5% and that too only in dx11 games. I think people should buy keeping in mind dx12/Vulkan is the future not dx11

Rx480 still performs way better at dx12. Battlefield 1 and many other future games will also support it.
It's on you if you want to go back with 250$ or be future proof. For me 480 looks like a better price/performance card with juice for future games. AMD cards also get better with drivers.

I was disappointed by the RX 480 (mainly because of the terrible perf/watt), and more with the 1060. It's perf/watt is great, but the performance level doesn't justify a $250 price tag over the $200 RX480. It would've been okay if it was like 15% faster everywhere, but it's only 10% faster in old dx-11 titles which are going out now. It's slower or equal to RX480 in DX12 benchmarks which are the future. It's hard to recommend it over 4gb RX480 considering the future dx12 titles. AMD GPUs are getting better performance increase on newer dx12 titles than nvidia gpus. I just wish AMD could get their shit together with their really bad power consumption.

I really want to buy a 1070 for 2k res gaming, but I'm a little unsure now seeing DX12 performance of Nvidia GPUs. I really wish they fix it in upcoming days. I don't want to spend 50k+ and get sub par performance in future titles.
