So I took some screen caps from the trailer.... got a real sweet one right here !!

*set as wallpaper*

P.S: As kick ass the CGI was, I really don't want the game to overuse them. In-game assets please.

I meant for Deus Ex 3, because Square Enix is handling the cinematics.

And PS2 port did have CGI cutscenes.

Well, I always. Either do CGI like Square or don't do'em at all.
I guess I don't have much to say in this matter.
Well heres something more then if you're interested in another gem of a game; SE Tokyo wants to work on THI4F (yes, thats what its called) cinematics as well.

After GOW3's trailer, this might be the best one I've seen in a LONG time. But come on...there has to be a balance. As long as the transition between gameplay isn't too distracting, I'm fine with it. Good example would be GOW3 and how consistent it was without any CGI, bad one would be Alan Wake.

Interview with Jean-Francois Dugas - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ei...ugas-interview

Quote:
All missions have multi-path solutions. It's not once in a while - it's all of them.

Quote:
It's not Fallout big, don't get me wrong, but there are a lot of streets, back alleys, rooftops, building interiors, sewers, conduits... There's a lot to explore.
Quote:
The thing is while you're doing A you can come across something, and can hack it and shut it down. If you do that then right away one of your colleagues will call you and ask, "Jensen, what did you just do?" You say: "I don't know. There was this switch and I shut it off."

But as you progress and do the other objectives it becomes clear that what you've already switched off is actually the final objective for the map - only you did it at the start. So basically we support players that maybe go left when they're meant to go right, when it makes sense, as much as we can.

Quote:
You can go left or right, there are streets and buildings to explore. There are people to meet who have side-quests. You can find weapon dealers that are hidden here and there. You can expand your experience outside of the critical path of mission objectives. I actually think the maps that we have are a little bit bigger than the one's we're talking about in Deus Ex 1
Quote:
We didn't go into Multitools because we wanted to make hacking more prevalent. So we decided that all the unlocking of things like that is done through hacking. As for proximity mines we have different templates where you can put different types of item together - you can attach one grenade to a mine template and stick it on walls and things like that. We have other things that are similar to what's been before too, like the meds and some of the nutrients

Quote:
We have gas grenades, we have frag grenades... we have a few others

Quote:
we're going more with a full cast of weapons. All of them have their unique abilities - so there's a range of lethal weapons and a range of non-lethal weapons. And it's not universal ammo: it's a specific ammo for each
Quote:
There are two kinds of takedown - you can kill the guy, or stun the guy. If you hold onto your trigger, you'll kill him. If you tap the trigger once, you'll stun the guy. With the guns, we have over 15 of them in the game - and most support stealth in combat. And yes, we do have tranquilisers

Quote:
The goal here is that you have a network: you start at a node and you have to reach your target. There is a mainframe though - which can detect you through the network and will start to retrace you. I don't know if you know a game called Uplink [made by Introversion, the creators of Darwinia] but we're using a similar approach

Quote:
You need information, and you have to read the character in front of you to deliver the right response to continue, and win the round. You have three rounds, he will have three counter-attacks. You can succeed, fail or have a neutral response. If you restart the conversation, it will move on to a completely different one. You can't learn the path. It's complex to code, very complex!

Oh man... I already read like a 10 page spread from Neo Plus. Actually the pics here are just proper ones right outta that mag. Will read the eurogamer article later on. Thanks for the update.

DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION

Renaissance, a key word, without which it would be impossible to write about the third Deus Ex game. Human Revolution is an attempt to revive the once famous series, today forgotten by the mass consumer. The developers can be described as representatives of a renaissance of ambitious games, ones you reach for like books, and play them to escape the dull reality. Deus Ex is another game for those who love BioShock, Fallout, Mass Effect and Heavy Rain.

Consoles have long been associated with simple, light entertainment. Some called this "pure fun", and fun was indeed all it was about. The lead of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Jean-Francis Dugas, nicknamed JF, believes that the growing popularity of consoles in the beginning of the XXI century in some sense blinded publishers, and partly also developers, and that's why for the last few years we've seen a dominance of FPS, Gears of War clones, simple shooters and slashers - games where a good story hardly mattered. Few tried to make "games for the mature gamer", which were successful in the 80's and 90's, and which older gamers speak about when they say games were better back then.
The mechanical augmentations are divided into four classes: combat, stealth, socia and hacking. There is supposed to be over 40 different augmentations, of which only a few were presented.
Deus Ex looks like a Blade Runner fan's wet dream, but it's even better than that
Square Enix recently acquired Eidos, and immediately turned attention to the Montreal studio, opened merely 3 years ago, the new Deus Ex game being the first of their three planned projects (the second one is Thief 4, the third one is a secret).
And a whole bunch of text expanding on all those points that I don't think anyone would bother to read here :p

Oh and the game is suppose to have n Alpha Protocol-like conversation system where you choose the emotions, not a dialog itself. And this is a prequel to the original game, if anyone doesn't know that.

P.S: About time someone fixed the typo in the title? :p

Awesome soundtrack is awesome:

I just extracted this directly from the 1080p trailer @ 320kbps. Includes the dialogues and sound effects as removing them would require more editing that I do not have the time for...and it sounds kinda better with it as well. Enjoy!

Gradually transitioning from console gaming to PC as the games are not worth it. 6 hours of Hellblade 2 is just not worth the $50 price tag.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
