Hi guys!
Following my recent GigaByte R9 270 thread, all was well. After 4 days of running the card, my sister was happily photoshopping when our socket went pataakha. :/

The PSU was a Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 600W. Now I know about the bad stuff I've heard about this particular power supply and I won't lie if I said I didn't see this coming. But this was totally random and the power supply ran a good 5 years.

For now, I'm just hoping the GPU is OK; I'll be handing it to my friend tomorrow to confirm but what are the odds though?

Anyhow, I searched a bit and naturally went to Galaxy.pk first and saw ThermalTake 530W for 5500 rupees. But as someone else asked on the internet, it was too good to be true in that price range. 530W, 87% efficiency, semi-modular. But as a review said it has 38A on one 12V rail. My Cooler Master had 36A (18A+18A). I don't know what to make of it since I've always sucked at electric stuff. Should I go for it? It'll be powering my Core i3-2100 (By a miracle, a Core i5 later someday) and a Gigabyte R9 270 OC (Needs two 6-pin connectors unlike the normal R9 270s, and needs 28A as the internet says).

As you can tell, I'm confused. There's also this Corsair VS 550W but I dunno if that is even meant for gaming PCs. It just says for simple office PCs and everyday tasks. :/

If you know anything better in 5500-ish range or less, let me know. I didn't come across any Xigmatek or Antec PSUs on these sites.

Just in case, calling sunny945

I would go with Cerberus , go with the Thermaltake SE630. It's for 6500 but if you go to shingpoint might get it for 6300 since they are official distributors of thermaltake as well.

36a on +12v and 18a+18a on +12v are completely different things because when both rails combine the actual power output is usually much less than the 36a so choosing a powersupply with single +12v rail is much better choice or if rails are distributed then you should check the combine rating of maximum output.
regarding your current psu i think it will be better for you to spend 1k more and purchase a future proof 630w Thermaltake PSU as this one have 49a on +12v (single rail) as you can see in the pic

so you are good to go with 530w or 630w but i recommend you to go for TT 630w as its available in a good price. you can also check pg marketplace for psu's as i saw some good power supplies in marketplace that you can purchase in a very good price.

Thanks a lot! I'll consider this. If you think there's something better I can get than TT 530 or 630, do let me know :).
