It looked janky as hell to be honest :/
Uhhh there's nothing wrong with the animations. It's just that the person playing kept stopping after every 2 seconds (probably afraid to mess up the demo).

The Guardian's fur looks a bit dated, though. Understandable, since it was originally a PS3 title. Anyhow, don't want to wait any longer for graphical upgrades. The gameplay is what matters here, and Ueda/Team ICO know how to deliver on that front.

It's not the animations I am talking about. It's hard to explain. But it can be very easily rectified if they polish their game.

The hair of the guardian on the other hand didn't impress me one bit.

Heavier camera & controls due to lower framerate! I don't like the draw distance with all that fog & shit. If game is cpu intensive it might still struggle on the PS4 =/

Also, Ueda & most of the original Team ICO are no longer working for Sony. They have formed their own separate new team. This is in Cerny's hands.

This does not look fun. AI has the potential to make it a really tedious affair, unless it is heavily scripted (which will make it boring instead of frustrating)

About freaking time sony !!!

That was indeed epic. Either the guy playing was an idiot or the game was not optimized..something felt off..Also if they are pushing this on ps4, they should make sure it looks like a ps4 game.

Cerny is apparently involved, but Ueda and some of the original Team ICO staff are the ones primarily working on the game.

"Since last summer, I’ve been working from a smaller studio I formed with the original staff who helped make Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Together we hope to challenge our personal creative limits & the possibilities of what games can be, both with The Last Guardian and beyond."
Fumito Ueda Comments On The Last Guardian, Reveals His New Development Studio | GearNuke

While we knew Ueda had left Sony Computer Entertainment to work on The Last Guardian as a contractor, we now know he has started his own studio, called genDesign - and genDesign is mentioned as working on The Last Guardian.

I see. I thought Ueda & his new moved on from this, I guess not!

Well I hope the design & implementation is done for good & only testing/optimizations remain in this project. It's loosing it's charm.

TLG was perhaps the weakest reveal in Sony's conference. Not impressed in the slightest. Sony needs to pull off something entirely amazing to help pique my curiosity in the game.

Too early to judge whether the gameplay mechanics will work out or not. Perhaps we might see more of this at GC. Until then we can only cherish the game we have been waiting for so long.

Ueda demos The Last Guardian behind closed doors, talks about development

“The live demo we’ve presented to you today is a kind of a vertical slice of the production,” he said. “It’s not the beginning of the game. It’s kind of midway.”
“There’s already an established relationship between the boy and Trico, hence that’s why he’ll listen to you. Maybe further down the storyline, further down the game experience, that relationship will be stronger and you can communicate better. Trico will react better.”
It takes elements from ICO, where the core of the experience was the cooperation between the two characters, and then it also feeds from the experience we provided in Shadow of the Colossus, where there’s a dynamic interaction with giant creatures. I think The Last Guardian takes the best of both worlds and combines them together. Fans of either of these elements will have a lot to enjoy when they get their hands on this.”
Regarding online connectivity:

“At the moment we haven’t confirmed whether we’ll have it or not,” he said.
“Obviously, a head-to-head will not make sense for this game. Your traditional sense of an online game will probably not be the style of The Last Guardian, if it was supported. We’ll elaborate further in future events.”

Fanboys will be fanboys, CT. They wouldn't hesitate slapping a medal even on a piece of turd as long as they're hyped enough for it :duke:

Although jokes aside, I'm interested in knowing what was shown to the press behind closed doors.
