I have currently done Bachelors in Computer Science, and have graduated last year. I am working as a software developer. My pay is 40k. Programming is mentally exhausting and personally I am sick of my job. I find no enjoyment in programming and I feel that if I do Masters in Computer Science, I will remain stuck in this field for the rest of my life.
Sare zindagi coding karne pareghi, and no offence but even I believe my seniors have no life, they code all day and stare at a monitor for most of their lives.
I think that with MCS, you can grow as much as MBA. I will still be a programmer after 10 years, and meri salary will be yeah around 1.2-1.3 Lac but I dont think I can grow further after that.

So as stupid as it sounds, I want to do MBA after doing my Bachelors in Computer Science. I want to quit my job, and finish MBA as quickly as I can.
Yeah, I will start from scratch, doing internships in PSO or SHELL and such and getting around 25K salary after doing MBA (after 2-2.5 years). But after 10 years, I think that I will be at a much better position.

I have no idea what field I'll go in, but I'm thinking to go for Marketing or Project Management.

My questions

1. Will companies avoid Hiring MBA Graduates who come from a non-BBA background?
2. If I work hard, can I get to the position I desire (Marketing, or Brand Manager/ Project Manager)
3. My Urdu is weak, and I cant write in URDU. Will this hurt me?

My fear is that if I quit my job now, and complete MBA. I will remain jobless in both fields :(
I cant commit to MBA, without leaving my current job.

Damn, your point of view is ~100% similar to that of mine. I have also to decide between BSc from case in electrical and CS from MCS.... And my point is the same k if i choose CS then i will spend rest of my life in front of screen, and there will be no practicality left in my life., lets see what others say but IMO switching field in this phase of life is certainly not a good idea.

Point being is that being a Programmer and working for someone is really stressful! I can do freelancing!, in my spare time, whilst doing MBA.

Its not like my skills are going to waste, People work at home earning dollars by making scripts and themes in wordpress. I know a bachelor student, who earned $2000 with no experience in his first year. Muhammed Haris (Search for him on Envato), created a word-press theme and got 5crore in 1 year sitting home at Karachi, damn.

Same story as mine but thing is I am in support/network field , thing is I.T could be stressful for some people like u and me , and I personally believe if u stop enjoying ur work then there is no need to work .

Good thing is ur coder u can do free lance work in part time and go on and study ur MBA , rest it's up to you . Even after 2 years of MBA ur out of job ur coding exp of freelance won't go to waste . Doing mcs won't upgrade a thing it will suck ur time more .

Well , i got passion in almost all field of computer except hardware. I love programming. Let me know from which university you did BCS. And yeah you can do MCS in another computer field. Like web designing. WEB DESIGNING IS WORTH IN COMPUTER. or in Multimedia. However. 40K... Is that your starting income in Software programming? D:

This is actually a very valid concern. Pardon my ignorance but does CS have any subfields which may not require you to do programming? Perhaps you could explore those avenues, if they exist of course.

Electrical/Electronics engineering is mostly about programming nowadays but areas do exist (Microwaves, Power, VLSI design, Electronic circuit designing etc.) which don't really require you to be a programmer to excel in your field of choice.

If you don't enjoy programming, then simply go MBA. If your heart isn't into it then simply go for something else. And like you said, your skills won't go to waste. You can work as a freelancer.
