I don't think the problem is the test. The problem is the ton-o-money they'll ask you for. 3 or 4 years ago, my big bro easily got selected. But he gave the test only for 'test experience' and he passed.
Last year, some people from LUMS came to my school and told us all about LUMS and their humongous fees. About 4+ lac rupees?

Since LUMS is such a money hog, my brother went to NUST instead. So if you fail the test. Don't feel sad, just think you save a couple of lac rupees

This thread has really got me thinking about something.. last year me and my friend applied to SSE. I got in, but my friend didn't.. BUT he received his rejection letter in I think.. late AUGUST(yup, that late). He got a call from LUMS on March to submit his inter mark sheet but he didn't.. could that be it? At least it would make him feel better that he passed the test :Chilli:

My brother is also in SSE. He received his letter by late JULY. But I guess that delay is for SSE plus people who applied for financial aid.

I gave mine in 2008. At that time, LCAT was more or less like SAT, things were pretty easy and you could always get past the exam thing easily. Your actual excellence is tested in the interviews and you might wanna focus on being much more prudent rather than being over confident otherwise its a simple task to go. My batch had a pretty tough decision to make since it was the first engineering batch to be inducted and now they are the top most senior batch of LUMS SSE

{I did not take my ticket to the LUMS or NUST or AKU (the options I had after selection) and chose an entirely different but challenging track; CA.. So give your heart a detailed time slot, to think and to reconsider your choices before you are stuck in the misery among engineers }

Almost 10 people from NOP 2012 had an interview on 21,22 April at two different locations and they say that was financial and extremely rough.

And any updates on admissions??

well i think the next batch of acceptances will start around 28-29th april or first week of may since those who had received their acceptance by now were given time till 25th april to submit the initial fee, which those who arent interested in going to lums and just gave the test for kicks, dont submit so new seats open up

First Round is equal to first merit list.

In it, only those were selected which did their best in tests. Most of them were those who also applied for foreign universities and a number of them were those who just wanted to test their abilities. Moreover a number of people from kararchi will prefer IBA instead of LUMS. A number of people cannot afford LUMS and majority of them don't get full financial aid.

The second round, Starting from 26th April will be good for overall decisions.

I know a guy who applied to SSE with financial aid. But he cancelled it later(dont know the details) and yesterday he received the letter.

Well I decided to drop the application earlier on when I found out how much info they were asking, but never really told them, until I got a call from someone in their admission office a few weeks ago, they told that they hadn't received my documents. I told them that I've decided not to apply for FA.

well i havent received acceptance letter yet but havent even been rejected...cuz some of my friends got rejection letters yesterday and i didnt

They have a pretty long waitlist, because a lot of people turn down the admission offer (e.g. me) because they ask for a crap-load of money so early on.

I'm glad the High Court passed a bill putting and end to these huge, non-refundable deposits now.
