LUMS admission decisions!!

They have a pretty long waitlist, because a lot of people turn down the admission offer (e.g. me) because they ask for a crap-load of money so early on.

I'm glad the High Court passed a bill putting and end to these huge, non-refundable deposits now.

I got in. It was a long time ago. But no aid

Has it really been implemented? Need details? I only saw on the news that they were working on it.

Well any order passed by the court is with immediate effect, and they have notified HEC to stop unis from doing it from now on, so I'm assuming that it has been implemented (or at least hopeful).

The main reason why I'm happy with this decision is not because o LUMS, but because of GIK; they do something similar to LUMS i.e. ask for 3.5 lakh to be deposited within a week or two after you're offered admission. Hopefully the law will come into effect by July thereby stopping GIK from this malpractice.

The order doesn't have retrospective implementation though, so LUMS isn't obliged to give back their deposit in anyway.

People who have experience, please tell me are the students applying through NOP to Lums really have to go through strict scrutiny?

And I just got done with my O levels. The result will come in August. When exactly should i appear for NOP?

I think the deadline in your case is over. You have to apply 2 years before. I also applied to NOP but got rejected.

Ohh...I thought it was after the result that you have to apply. In my case, my result is not out yet. And if you get rejected from NOP, you can still apply normally, right?

I applied quite some time back so dont remember if you have to apply before or after result but you get admission after two years.

Yes you can apply normally and get in too.

^ LCAT/SSE test was held in early February for the fall 2012 intake I remember.
