I was kinda hoping for a similar kind of experience in regards to gameplay and I'm glad that seems to be the case, actually. Varies from person to person, I suppose.

[h=1]Killzone: Shadow Fall Getting Free Post-Launch DLC[/h]

Fans of Killzone: Shadow Fall will likely be glad to know that once the game arrives alongside the PlayStation 4 on November 15 in the US and November 29 in Europe, developer Guerrilla games will continue to support its multiplayer mode through free post-launch DLC.

This according to Guerrilla's community editor Victor Zuylen who took to the game's website to issue the following statement:

"To increase longevity even further, we plan to continue support for the title well after launch – and yes, DLC multiplayer maps will be released free of charge to ensure everyone can play."

During Gamescom last week, Guerrilla released the above Multiplayer trailer that gave a glimpse into what fans can expect. This in addition to the below bullet points that comes courtesy of the same post and outline some of its key MP components.

• Using the new customizable Warzone features demonstrated in the trailer, you can pick the number of players (4-24), rules, mission modes, classes, abilities and weapons you want to allow in a match, then save these choices as a preset to share with the rest of the Shadow Fall community.
• There are now eight different rotating mission modes, four of which are new to Killzone: Shadow Fall. The game has three classes with unique abilities and 22 different weapons – all unlocked from the get-go, so you can determine for yourself how and in which order you want to specialize.
• We’ve also redesigned our progression system to work with challenges rather than XP. There are over 1500 increasingly difficult challenges to complete in Killzone: Shadow Fall multiplayer, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to prove your skills and collect rewards

We’re pulling out all the stops for Killzone Shadow Fall’s multiplayer, and we already have several forms of downloadable content planned for extensive post-launch multiplayer support. In addition to new competitive multiplayer maps – which, as we mentioned before, will be released for free – we’re also working on paid expansion packs that will further enhance your online experience.
To help you save on the first six expansion packs, we’re introducing the Killzone Shadow Fall Season Pass. For just $19.99, you will receive access to the following packs as they become available:

  • Online co-op expansion pack
Focusing on team play and intense combat, the online co-op expansion pack adds a new co-operative game mode in which you and up to three online friends must survive against impossible odds. Fight waves upon waves of enemies in four new arena maps, featuring a unique leveling system and new unlocks.
  • Three online co-op map packs
Each map pack consists of two brand-new arena maps you can play in co-op mode with your friends. Please note that these arena maps will only work with the online co-op expansion pack.
  • Two additional multiplayer expansion packs
We’ll reveal more about these additional multiplayer expansion packs when Killzone Shadow Fall’s launch date nears. Suffice to say they’ll offer many hours of additional multiplayer thrills!

But that’s not all – if you get your Season Pass for day one of Killzone Shadow Fall, you will also receive access to an exclusive OWL combat drone skin and a unique Multiplayer Spotlight move. Take advantage of this excellent value deal to maximize your online experience!

From that description co-op mode just sounds like another horde mode pretender. Those are usually a snooze. Multiplayer is where it's going to be at and from past experience I'd say it's inadvisable to purchase DLC for it. Don't get me wrong, the content itself is great but the problem is people rarely, if ever, purchase DLC for games like KZ(Even with KZ3 I remember only two of us purchasing the DLC and sharing it with eight other people  ). The price seems reasonable though for the amount of content on offer.

Killzone: Shadow Fall File Size is About 50GB

In an interview with Eurogamer, Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Fergal Gara revealed that Killzone Shadow Fall will have a size of more than 50 GB, so it’ll take a while to download it from the PSN – although fortunately, with the “Play as you Download” functionality, players won’t have to wait before enjoying the game.

There are big innovations in the PS4 to make it more attractive and more easy gamer wise to want to download. The Play as you Download functionality, for example, means you don’t need the whole file before you go. This is a little bit counterbalanced by the fact the files themselves are getting bloody big. Killzone: Shadow Fall is an uber file – I think it’s cracking on for 50GB. It looks it, too, when you see it.

It is still a relatively tedious process. We’ve done a lot of work on pre-delivering files. It’s not perfect. It’s not seamless. The file version of the game versus the disc version of the game maybe needs to go through additional QA and additional testing. Some of the problems that have occurred have occurred on older machines, which of course when you go into the next-generation you at least get to reset and start again and everything’s the same age and new. That helps.

But it’s a major area of focus. It’s a major area of investment. The network will perform better on multiple levels, because it becomes not just a sales or gaming delivery but increasingly it becomes a social network. So it’s got to be a compelling experience on multiple levels. It’s going to be for no lack of investment, for no lack of effort and no lack of intention that things might fall a bit short. But we’re definitely moving in the right direction, and I’m confident when step on and understand its importance.

There was an article a while ago that Sony and Panasonic are teaming up to create a 300GB Blu-ray disc by 2015. So I don't think we should worry much about shortage of space. :p

Will that disk be supported by ps4?The answer is no right now. We'll see in future.Only ps3 game i remember that took 49 GB on blu ray was uncharted 3.And GoW 3 took 35 GB i guess so it depends on the game yeah we should not worry about it right now

It'd be pretty stupid of Sony to not make their new High Capacity Blu-ray disc incompatible with the PS4. Games are gonna require more and more space, Sony will be future proofing the PS4 with the new blu-ray disc just like how the did with the PS3.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
