Are you out of your mind? Do you know what threat this poses to the ever-growing internet society? HELL, THE INTERNET IS FINE THE WAY IT IS, I do not need any acts on my internet. Internet is supposed to be open for freedom of expression and speech but if they take that away, I am sure, MANY PEOPLE WILL GET PISSED OFF including myself. On a serious note, IMO this cannot be passed as many big companies are against it for e.g Google, Wikipedia, GoDaddy etc.
we hear that almost every other day... piracy cannot be stopped... also no one in pakistan is gonna take me to jail... i ain't worried...
They're still jumping between decisions.
If they agree with the bill they will be sued by thousands of domain over questionable content and literally millions of domains will withdraw their accounts from them.
If they don't agree with the bill, they will get hit every time some domain goes down in the name of piracy.
For GoDaddy it's not that simple.
It will also hurt online gaming too. They are also against it. Specially HALO team.

Any "illegal, pirated, or otherwise SOPA-esque" content and *poof* your site is gone.
even sites which are not hosted in america? Afaik america can stop google / DNS servers / search engines basically any site to mention the so called "illegal" site but the site CAN exist if its outside the USA, no?
I am pretty sure advanced users/pirates will find a way around its the normal casual users that'll suffer.
Its about the freedom of speech, privacy rights, freedom of not having to be nailed down by petty legislation that suffocates you to death.
Nearly ALL the social media sites are American, nearly all the biggest "funny" websites are American, not to mention the online merchants, all the mp3, videos, sharing websites that are hosted right out 'Merica.
SOPA and PIPA going online will mean a great divide of communication between people every where.
and oh, YOUTUBE, WIKIPEDIA, FACEBOOK and almost all social networking sites will be GONE if SOPA goes through.
Yea thats what i mean only the casual users of normal "legal" websites would suffer whereas pirates would still find ways to torrent/download illegal stuff. America can shutdown ANY website which even mentions an illegal website. They don't even need to post even lets say someone posts a comment like "i love pirating off thepiratebay" on facebook or somthing could get facebook in legal trouble. This is basically SOPA. Down with that shit it wouldn't pass anyways. They can't fuck with the internet. Last i heard after the sopastrike yesterday 20 or so senators backed off the bill.
