So if you are on a really good line and want to upgrade your upload speed. Just go to your modem settings and change your adsl modulation to AnnexM. It will increase your upload speed miraculously. I came across some guy who told me this. Tried and VOILAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Nope. My down rate is still the same as before. 8196. Get about 900+ Kbps on direct and around 800+ on torrent.

Yes, But I think its something which is enabled from the exchange. May be I am lucky to have my exchange already enabled this thing. What I am hearing is, you can call helpline and tell them to enable AnnexM so you could get higher upload speed than usual. But only if you have 8 mb profile and have really good line stats.

You CAN NOT just tick the AnnexM box and wait for the upload rate to magically increase itself.

I had asked StrikerX a year back or so if I could do this, and that was before it was being beta tested even so he said it depends on your exchange.

Now, if you want AnnexM, you're going to have to request it by messaging PTCLCares and then wait for the modem to re-sync at AnnexM with the higher upload rate, while slightly compromising on download rate.


TL;DR Ticking the box will do nothing if your exchange hasn't enabled it. It'll just cause your modem to disconnect.

You're not supposed to uncheck the others.

Even if you keep the others enabled, you'll still probably sync at AnnexL because of not requesting for AnnexM to be enabled on your line.

Nope.
Request for it from the exchange by messaging PTCLCares and then tick AnnexM and ADSL2+.

Luckily my exchange have it already enabled. Just had to change my modulation and got higher speed. And no, your download speed is not compromised. I have the same down rate now as I had before. And my download speeds are perfectly fine as before. Same speeds.

I called them and asked to enable my AnnexM. The cs guy was like sir what is annexm etc. He was asking me what speeds i get and what is my package. I just said dude just forward my request to enable the AnnexM. He said we will arrange a callback from the technical department to you for this.

I've been on AnnexM for several years now (I use my own modem and it always defaults to AnnexM), and despite what you see in the status panels, the actual connection speed you get is limited at the back end. You uplink speeds are still capped around 1Mbps.
