i5 or i7 and our current setup

yaaro big problem i want to buy new pc by selling dell precision 470 xeon
but i5 having 1156 socket and i7 having 1366 socket whats that and i come to know that
1366 socket is going to upgrades in processors but i5 have full stop isnt it and which is better
because budget is going to be +50k
so guide me

CM 690 @ 6k

Cooler Master 600W eXtreemPower @ 5k
Add as many HDDs u want for ur prono collection ..
total budget including GPU approX:72k

every thing is under budget but we have 3 hard disk of 1 tb
ddr 3 trikit are very expensive right now i suppose

@Master Mind!! Core i7 is LGA1366 but the board you mentioned is a LGA1156 mobo, which supports the 1156's i7 series. And that mobo dont support Tri Channel either because 1156 is Dual Channel Supported.

Baqi rest of the specifications are good.

btw ... Exclude the CM600 .... Crap PSU.

So decide now .. If you can spend atleast 80k then By all means go ahead

we planned a lot but what the hake 1156 and 1366 if one socket is available than thier is no problems
we are gona purchase only mobo+processor+rams+chassis+psu (no hard disk and np gpu right now)

aur dostoo i7 8mb 4.8gb/t 4 threads and 4 core i suppose isnt it is much better than quad having 12mb cache price is same almost.... but due to latest tech we are shifting to.......... having problems what is (4.8gt/t) and which socket is better 1156 or 1366

LGA1156 iz the way to go for mainstream users
this platform aint gonna get a Full stop as it was launched just last month

the LGA1366 iz an Enthusiast Platform
Intels latest and Fastest Processors will be launched on it like the upcoming Core i9

but simple question iz tht can an average mainstream user afford 999$ Processors?

LGA1156 iz the answer
the i5 iz in some cases faster than i7 920
while the i7 860 of LGA1156 lies in between the entire i7 900 Line up

msi x58 pro
3 gb ddr3 1600
cm690 chasis

and as far as people are saying that i9(1366 processor) will be of 1k $
well yeah it will be but it will come down in price...thats for sure
when the first quad q6600 came out it was of 900$
but after a couple of months its prioce dropped to 300$

and my guess is that the i9 would drop to 400-600$ range after 3-4 moths..

@Raheel!! If you are buying a rig for just gaming purposes, then i5 is recommended because you will get almost same performance as i7 920. But if you are buying the rig for Business Purposes, then i dont think you should buy less than i7 (but that also depends on the Program you use e.g. If you are into 3d Rendering then surely you will be needing more CPU Power)
