What is the main difference between functions, applications, programs, usability, etc etc in iphone 4 and ipod touch 4g?

I can’t decide what to buy, the new iphone or the ipod touch. I have very little phone usage per day, I already have a ipod classic 80gb. Now I cant decide what to get.

The way I see it, ipod is just like the iphone, without the phone part. Am I right?

Give me some details, insights and information. Graphic representation would also be nice.

And please do NOT enforce your opinion and tell me go buy either of the products. I just want a compare and contrast.

Thank You

I'd say get an iPod instead of an iPhone. Reason is the price difference and the antenna band issue with the iPhone 4, you can get a 2k phone with the iPod and enjoy. There are two main differences between the two phones, the iPod's camera is 0.7mp when taking still photos whereas the iPhone's is 5mp. Both record videos in 720p though....

Other than that, the retina display on the iPod isn't as good as on the iPhone when viewing it from different viewing angles. Still it may be SLIGHTLY worse than the iPhone but the price makes it worth it. Other than that the hardware is the same as far as I am aware....A4 processor with 512mMb RAM (not sure about ram though )

What is Jailbreak? U can easily jailbreak your ipod..

its basically hacking or opening the ipod touchs software and installing an installer button that allows you to add other apps.

ive done it and nothing wrong had ever happened.if something does just force restore and its like new again.

go yo youtube.com and search ipodtouchmaster no spaces and tons of his videos will come up. look fo the 1.1.2 jailbreak or 1.1.1 jailbreak on pc and follow the steps.. hell show you step by step and the links are in the description.

oh and its so worth ti, you get games, mail, maps, notes, more games,im,ect.tons of stuff.like song sender, photo sender.

iPod scratches way too easily. Way way too easily. And putting a cover on its back ruins its whole image (slimness, and the aluminum back).
I use mine without any back cover and even though its scuffed, it looks great :)

If you can afford it, get the iPhone and use it as your primary phone and music device. The camera is much much MUCH better, and more connectivity options (GPRS) is always a plus.
