[h=1]Epic takes guided missiles out of Fortnite for foreseeable future[/h]

[h=2]Say goodbye to self-rocket rides[/h]

One of Fortnite Battle Royale’s most divisive and exciting weapons, the guided missile, is being put in the vault indefinitely, according to developer Epic Games.
A critical bug with the guided missile was introduced in patch v3.5, which contained a few nerfs to the weapon. The changes were intended to make it a little less powerful, but instead, broke the guided missile’s animation, forcing it to be temporarily disabled. After temporarily disabling the weapon, and plenty of player outcry, Epic Games announced that the guided missile will be taken out of the game.
“We’ve gotten a lot of feedback around the Guided Missile, in particular concerns over fairness and strength of the weapon. We share your concerns, so we’ve put the Guided Missile into the vault while we figure out the next steps for its future,” Epic Games said in a post on Reddit.
On the Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit, the developer addressed several controversial changes that came with last week’s patch (v3.5). Epic also addressed concerns over “dick bullets,” a bug that caused bullets to hit walls that players were hiding behind instead of shooting over the walls. According to Epic, this bug was a side effect of fixing a separate issue. Fortunately, this is a change that Epic plans to roll back in the next few days.
The final controversy Epic addressed in this post revolves around weapon swapping, one of the hottest topics in Fortnite Battle Royale right now. While Epic said that it is still listening to feedback in regard to the changes, it’s planning to keep the new equip times that were added to shotguns — at least for the next patch — while it looks for a fix to the strength of those weapons as a whole.

[h=1]Fortnite’s 50 v 50 mode is a great, safe place to practice your building skills[/h]

[h=2]As good an opportunity as any for newcomers to try Fortnite[/h]

Fortnite: Battle Royale’s limited-time 50v50 mode is a rare opportunity to learn the game’s building skills. Seriously. Don’t be fooled by the promise of humongous, end-game battles. The best reason to try the mode is the abundance of resources and safe space to practice construction.
Here’s how the 50v50 mode works: To start each round, two teams of 50 players fly over the game’s island in two separate buses from opposite sides of the map. Between the paths of the buses sits the small end-game circle, clearly marked from the start. Players from both teams can rush to the circle, which gets between three and six supply drops every two minutes — a solid choice for players who specialize in combat.
Or, players can drop elsewhere in the map and harvest resources at a 75 percent increased rate. The mode gives the player 10 minutes to get into the final circle — plenty of time to collect materials and experiment with fort building before you make your way to the final showdown. Because teams drop onto opposite sides of the map, building can be done relatively in peace.

Construction tutorials have become popular on YouTube, but this is the first mode that feels like a natural fit for constructing in-game while watching a guide on your laptop or phone. As matches become increasingly decided by building skills, having a more permanent place to practice could help produce greater skill parity between newcomers, novices and experts.
Fittingly, the end of 50v50 matches are a showcase for high-level construction, incentivizing mastering building by providing plenty of examples of what can be made. In a match that ended on flat ground, my team constructed dozens of tiny forts, concealing our position from the other team.

Once the storm reaches the circle, the match continues for five minutes, then the circle slowly shrinks for five minutes until no space is left on the map. In one match, my team established itself on a mountainside on the edge of the circle, while the other team fabricated their own mountain from steel, brick and wood. And so, as the circle made its final closure, the fake mountain and real mountain gradually merged into a single, humongous tower, climbing toward the sky in the heart of the circle. Entire pieces of the structure gave out as teammates and enemies alike hammered the base with grenades and rockets.

Fornite’s 50v50 mode is spectacular — when it works. In two matches, my character froze in place for a few seconds. In another match, I was booted because of a connection error. It’s incredible, I suppose, the mode works at all with so many players, explosions and buildings smashed into the tiny space. But I still hope Epic is able to stabilize the mode during its availability.
Even if they don’t get the mode to run with predictability this time around, I’ll still favor 50v50 if only for the early minutes of the game. I have a lot to learn about Fortnite, and this is the place to do it.

[h=1]5 things to know from Fortnite’s season 4 patch notes[/h]
[h=2]The comet may have destroyed Dusty Depot, but that wasn’t the patch’s only change[/h]

After months of waiting, season 4 of Fortnitefinally crash landed onto servers with patch v4.0 and made some massive changes to the game on its way in.
Thanks to the comet that we’ve been following for weeks, Fortnite Battle Royale’s map is in complete disarray now. Some locations have been destroyed completely and othersare simply in various states of ruin. While most players are going to notice changes to the map changes first, that’s not the only thing that’s been shifted by today’s patch on the Battle Royale side.
As for Save the World, there’s a huge amount of new content being added, thanks to the new superhero-themed campaign called Blockbuster Event. The campaign adds new enemies and heroes to the cast of Save the World. Players are also sure to notice some of the other changes in Fortnite’s PvE game mode, such as loot dropping from enemies now or the new military weapons set.
For a full list of Fortnite changes, you can check out Epic’s Fortnite v4.0 patch notes.
[h=3]1. THE COMET CRASH LANDED AND MAP IS A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT NOW[/h]Vigilant Battle Royale players have had their eyes turned toward the sky for the better part of a month now trying to guess when this map-altering event might occur. Today it finally did. Thanks to Epic’s excellent cinematic trailer for season 4, we can get a glimpse of what the comet’s impact looked like — but to see fallout of it’s impact, you’ll have to look around the map yourself. While a whole slew of new locations have been added to the Battle Royale map, the most obvious one that was completely altered was Dusty Depot — it’s now Dusty Divot — which turned from a few peaceful warehouses into a giant flaming crater.
[h=3]2. SAVE THE WORLD IS GETTING A SUPERHERO ORIGIN STORY[/h]Save the World’s missions are almost always exciting and an interesting sign of what might be on the way to Battle Royale in the next few patches. This time, the newest campaign is superhero themed, just like the Battle Pass, and introduces an entirely new cast of characters to the PvE game mode. Along with these new characters are a few new character subclasses to help you Save the World a little bit better.
[h=3]3. THE CROSSBOW IS BEING RETIRED TO THE VAULT[/h]Not everyone likes the crossbow. Getting one out of a chest as your first weapon of the game could often mean that you were about to meet an early end. Thankfully, Epic realized that the weapon was less popular than it could be and retired it to the vault. If you were one of the few people that did really like the crossbow, don’t worry, it could be back someday. But for now, all you’re left with is fond memories and more useful guns.
[h=3]4. HOP ROCKS WILL LET YOU JUMP TALL BUILDINGS IN A SINGLE BOUND[/h]The comet has crash landed, and though it may be gone, its remnants are still all over the map in the form of tiny rocks. These rocks are called “Hop Rocks” and if you eat one, you’ll feel the effects of lower gravity and be able to jump way higher than normal. The patch notes don’t really say how long this effect lasts, or just how high you’ll be able to go, so you’ll have to get in game and experiment to see how they work.
[h=3]5. THE NEW BATTLE PASS IS HERE[/h]The most exciting part of every new season is here and this time, all the cosmetics are superhero themed. Once again, the Battle Pass will cost you 950 V-Bucks ($9.50) and has 100 tiers of cosmetics unlocks to gain. These tiers earn you Battle Stars, either by playing the game leveling up or by completing weekly and daily challenges.

A limited-time event begins in Fortnite Battle Royale tomorrow, May 8, which will bring a huge Marvel Universe character into the game. Thanos of Avengers: Infinity War will star in a special crossover mode in Fortnite Battle Royale: Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup.

The Avengers: Infinity War-themed mode shakes up the standard Battle Royale formula, according to Entertainment Weekly, which has details on the campaign. Players can find the Infinity Gauntlet on the map, and whoever grabs it can equip it and actually become Thanos in-game.

This is a huge crossover for two of the biggest franchises right now. Considering there aren’t officially licensed Avengers games out there — at least, not yet — this is as close as fans may get to actually playing with the Marvel Universe’s latest hit.

[h=1]Thanos is getting nerfed in Fortnite’s new Infinity Gauntlet mode[/h]
[h=2]And a bug with loot rarity is being fixed[/h]

Fortnite’s newest game mode, Infinity Gauntlet, has only been live for a few hours, but developer Epic Games is already making a few changes, thanks to player feedback.
The Avengers: Infinity War-themed mode, which lets players take control of Thanos, the film’s antagonist, has proven popular with players, but a few complaint threads on Reddit convinced Epic to go back and reevaluate just how strong the Mad Titan is in Fortnite. Turns out, Thanos is just a little too strong, and they are going to tone him down a bit.
According to a post on Reddit from Epic, a hotfix has gone live that reduces Thanos’ shield and health by 100 each, and takes the damage of his laser down from 15 to 12. These aren’t huge changes, and Thanos is sure to still be pretty powerful, but these tweaks should help give more players an opportunity to take the villain for a spin.
This isn’t the only change for the game mode that Epic has mentioned on Reddit today though. In a post by user Yo-Han7 about receiving common loot when the patch notes said that only rare, epic and legendary grade loot would be in the mode, an Epic employeeresponded letting everyone know that this was indeed a bug and, “we are working on a fix.”

[h=1]There is a mysterious hatch in Fortnite, and no one knows why it’s there[/h]
[h=2]The biggest game in the world gets another mystery[/h]

Fortnite only has one map, and it’s not very large when compared to the speed of the players and the number who drop in during every round. If something new pops up anywhere on the landscape, it will be found and discussed nearly instantly.
A hatch appeared during the second week of season four, and players are trying to figure out what it leads to.
[h=2]WHY THIS IS A BIG DEAL[/h]You can visit the hatch yourself, it’s in the upper right-hand corner of square I3 of the map. There’s not much to it, it’s just a hatch. There doesn’t seem to be a way to open it, and you may find other players there trying to figure out the mystery as well. They may or may not shoot at you as you look around.
There are markings on the back of the hatch, and no one has figured out what they mean yet. But it’s nearly a sure thing that they mean something.

Back, and to the left. Back ... and to the left Epic Games via PolygonThe intriguing thing is that Epic Games doesn’t just drop random stuff into the game. The company doesn’t tell you to look at something unless there is something for you to see, and many of the game’s puzzles and mysteries aren’t advertised in any other way. If Fortnite’sfanbase often feels like a group of conspiracy theorists, you can chalk it up to the fact thatthe game is filled with conspiracies.

And we know this stuff pays off; Epic set up a series of in-game events and hints that led to season four, and the speculation and fan-created events were part of the fun. A hint at the future works so well because players feel like they get to interact with the meta-story as it unfolds.
It’s hard to overthink this stuff, because the rabbit hole often goes so deep. And in this case it’s pretty much a literal rabbit hole. I used the camera in the replay tool to look into the window, and yes ... it goes deep. This isn’t just a hole in the ground, you can see how it opens up to a large chamber below, even if you can’t see where it goes from there. It’s hard to tell from a still image, but if you move the camera you can get a sense of the length from the top of the chute to the bottom of the floor.

What’s DOWN there? Epic Games via PolygonIt could be a hint that vehicles are coming. It could be a link to the various lairs that have been found around the map. It could be anything, and we don’t know if the mystery will be solved next week or two months from now when another new season begins.
For now it’s just a door, and a mystery, and that’s the most enjoyable thing about it. If we can’t do anything to open it, at least not yet, it’s fun to speculate about what it may be hiding.Fortnite is a fun game to play in general, but Epic Games has proven very willing to play back at us, and that’s how to you turn casual players into loyal fans.

Fortnite is literally unplayable and overrated tbh, Epic games has been doing horrible job but still people are praising it. They haven't been able to add the SEA servers even though there is about 5+ million players from SEA region.

[h=1]Fortnite’s next version update delayed an entire day[/h]
[h=2]The Wednesday release means fans won’t have waited long[/h]
Over the last several weeks, players have gotten pretty used toFortnite’s weekly updates hitting on Tuesday. However, on Monday night around 8 p.m. ET, Epic tweeted that the game’s newest update, patch v4.2, would be delayed, “we’ve discovered an issue that’s going to delay the release of v4.2 ... We’ll update you once we have a more accurate time frame.”
Originally set to launch on early this morning, Epic wasn’t able to commit to any kind of schedule for when players could expect this newest patch. Thankfully, the answer came just under 12 hours after the patch was originally set to go live: Epic tweeted that patch v4.2 will be available Wednesday, May 16, with maintenance happening at the regular time: 4 a.m. ET.
A 24-hour delay isn’t too bad, all things considered. It’s good to see that Epic was able to work out the issue with the patch so quickly, whatever it may have been. Despite the brief delay on the newest patch, the fan-favorite Thanos mode, Infinity Gauntlet, still ended on Monday as scheduled.
While fans weren’t necessarily angry about the delayed update, a few took to Reddit to joke that the new Burst Rifle that will be added in patch v4.2 could suffer the same fate as the jetpack — an item announced near the launch of Fortnite Battle Royale that’s still never been released.

[h=1]Fortnite Battle Royale is finally getting jetpacks[/h]
[h=2]After three months of waiting, Epic is finally letting us fly[/h]

Jetpacks are finally headed to Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games confirmed in a tweet today. The jetpacks are set to arrive in Fortnite Battle Royale as a part of the v4.2 content update, which will go live on Tuesday, May 22 at 8 a.m. ET with no server downtime.
“Strap in and blast off with Jetpacks in the v4.2 Content Update,” the company tweeted.
This tweet confirms part of a datamine by the Twitter account Fortnite: Battle Royale Leaks. The account linked the jetpacks to a possible new limited-time mode called “Close Encounters,” which seems to have something to do with a combination of shotguns and jetpacks. Polygon has reached out to Epic Games for comment on the game mode, but for now the company hasn’t announced anything yet, so for now, that part is still just speculation. While jetpacks will be added with Tuesday’s update, they will only be in the game for a limited time, according to the game’s news section.
Players were first promised Jetpacks by Epic Games back in February, when they showed up in the in-game client’s new tab. The items vanished shortly after with no official word on their fate, however. Since then, jetpacks have become one of the most frequently requested features for the game — and the target of frequent jokes.
