Problem persists since last night around 1am on Fiberlink and Stormfiber.
I have heard mixed report of underwater cable being effected and what not.
It's probably just usual incompetence.
WHY WHY on the weekend....

I know not everyone is a linguist, but WHY do they always throw up fancy words and use them incorrectly? It gives me a headache trying to comprehend what he's trying to say lol

Restarting didnt solve the issue.

So do i need to flash any custom firmware to my router? It is Tp-link 1043ND 300mbps gigabit router V1.0
Do u suggest me to flash any CF? If yes, which one?

As per updates received from upstream provider the current service issues being faced are due to a submarine cable cut on TW1 cable system. This cut is off the coast from Karachi. Concern teams are diligently coordinating for earliest restoration of smooth services. Further no ETTR is available at the moment. Occasional congestion on services in peak hours for the next 24 to 48 hours may be experienced.

Transworld should probably lease bandwidth from SEAMEWE4 or AAE-1 for the time being.

they also have SMWE5 for some reason they are not using and the new ptcl AEE1 cable . TW1 cable system is the one with problems.

Yes I'm still confused why they haven't started using SEAMEWE5 yet. They do bring it up rarely (you notice when routing suddenly improves to Singapore) but most of the time they are on TW1.

A more conservative estimate would be 3-4 weeks, tbh, given how efficiently systems work in Pakistan.

If its a complete cable cut, the traffic (however slow) is probably already on leased bandwidth.

Also some sites are not working since day one, including moddb.com and not limited to it and they all are for free softwares like filepuma etc. Any way to clear them for regular browsing because ptcl no longer had such problems with regular websites. Also tried vpn and such few methods tries and they are not opening weirdest thing!.


I forgot to note down place to complaint to stormfiber, so anyone who where to complain to them?
Also where to complain about websites not opening which are suppose to be normal websites?

For anyone curious, I just plugged in my backup Stormfiber, and it's as if nothing is wrong with the internet. I'm maxing out my 30MBit on a test file; the same test file/link on Fiberlink won't break 100KB/s (and goes down to 75 or less). Most browsing is normal, responsive, no shitty pings, latencies are normal.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Stormfiber gets better quality B/W from TW, even when TW switches to backup routes. And Fiberlink has to make do with bulk/low quality B/W. Shame, because I could certainly use that 200Mbit right now.

StormFiber use way less bandwidth than FiberLink ( maximum speed is 30Mbps ) thus less congestion and better performance in such situations.

Working fine here but the pings on Dxb server went from 30 to 180. Will probably be fixed soon i guess.
