It's up for me since last 11 hours.

What do you guys used to monitor uptime? I wrote a custom tool for myself but it was a bit heavy on the server side.

No need for any custom tools.
Since you have an ASUS router so just configure the DDNS on it and make the router admin panel accessible from WAN after that use PingDom.com or any other monitoring service to monitor it's uptime.

If you don't want to do that then use UpTime Robot to ping your public IP address given by FiberLink.

PingDom doesn't give IP ping option in thier free service but they offer 1 minute interval checking and UpTime Robot offer ping check but thier free checking internal is every 5 minutes so you can decide which service to use.

I use both at the same time for better monitoring.

They both have mobile apps too so you'll get push notifications every time your internet goes down and when its back up.

I looked at both initially but at that time I wanted an interval of around 5 to 10 seconds since I wanted to catch the quick disconnect / reconnect scenarios that were giving me ping spikes. That's why I wrote a simple tool to keep an always open socket connection to my own server and keep transmitting bogus data while logging whenever it fails.

It's a good idea to use multiple services though since they might catch issues the other one missed. And having monitoring at longer intervals is better than not having any at all like I currently have I guess.

For that you can make a script to send you an email every time you connect to a WAN just like I'm using it. It didn't tell you when it goes down but it'll email you every time your router connect again after a disconnection.

But you need to shift to AsusWRT-Merlin for that as the stock firmware doesn't support scripting.

I dont know if it is including taxes or without? because below they have shown different prices for next year, those are the current charges including taxes, like i applied for 20mbps and paid 24,419rs for yearly package. but on this they are saying only 18,000rs for a year and 24,419rs for next year onwards. Can anybody confirm this?

Also my connection is still not on, so can i convert my package right now to 100mbps in 25,000rs (according to this promo, supposedly) while i just need to pay them 581rs?

i have asked them on facebook, didn't call them on UAN number coz i know they wont pickup, and i cant talk to local fiberlink person, sometimes they also dont know exactly about new promotions etc

I don't recommend you to opt for yearly package, at least not until your connection is installed and running.

I already had opted for 20mbps yearly package, applied on 14th march, it has been 3 months now :-o
They have hanged one fiber at home 2 weeks back, and seems like they are just going to deploy and switch On my connection in a day or two (that is that they said)
So now what should i do? Opt for 100mbps offer? Or wait till my connection is Up and running? I 'm afraid that offer will not be valid when my connection is up. What u say?

I talked to support about an hour ago and they didn't have any widespread reports of an outage.

At least I'm the only one with a Red light in the Iqbal Town area. Or other people haven't complained.
