I switched rooms a few days ago, and wifi signals barely reach the new room. I currently use a TP-Link W940N router, and I can't really change the location of the router and the modem.

I need suggestions for a wide range router that can easily cover most of a 2 kanal house. Budget is around PKR 5000/-.

Really low budget for a single router to cover 2 kanal house.
What I recommend is use a cheap router and make it access point with the help of a LAN cable.

I'm a noob when it comes to this.

I would appreciate a link to a "guide for dummies" or something.

Edit: How much would a budget wide range router cost anyway?

Thank you! How much would a basic wide range router cost me anyway? I'll try extending my budget.

Honestly I have a 20k router and even then I have three other routers in my house to cover all the areas so I don't think there's any router which will cover exactly every area in the house without compromising the quality and speed so the best way is always multiple routers with hardware link.

Oh alright. Thank you!

What about wifi extenders? Are they worth it?

Not really at least for my connection because they cut the bandwidth in half and use that part for thier own wireless link in between so the clients get only half the bandwidth. In layman's terms if you connect two 300Mbps router you'll only get almost 150Mbps.

Also the connection quality and stability is a lot less than hardware linked routers.

Today i received a call from fiberlink at 11.30pm. The was asking my permission to install my connection tomorrow early morning. I told him, bhai mera connection 2 mahiney pehle lag chuka ha. He was shocked and said have u applied another connection with ur name? I said no. They he said sorry, it might be some confusion from our side with the name of customer. If anyone wants to ask him about their connection statue , this is him number 03319361160. I didnt asked him name as i was surprised to receive this call.

mzk1991 with the extremely detailed feedback you collected on this forum before applying for the connection, I'm surprised you want to go to court? You were warned well in advance what would happen when you apply and pay them.

Doesn't make sense to complain about these issues know when you knew to expect them.

Perhaps that was a mistake and i regret that i have ordered connection of fiberlink. Anyway it is everybody's right to go to court if anybody thinks that his/her rights are being compromised.

Yes, you have the right. But like I told you once before, it does actually take them between 3 to 6 months for installation despite what they say due to various reasons.

A friend got his internal fiber deployed after 45 days even though they told him he'd get his connection in 30 days. He still didn't get the device or his connection activated for another 2+ months. Turns out after deployment, the signal strength in his area was very low due to attenuation and Fiberlink had to re-deploy kilometers length of main fiber to his area several times before the signals were adequate enough for activation. That kind of work obviously meant a long wait time.

He was still lucky though since another of my friends had to wait a full year and four months before he got his connection when Fiberlink first started their operations in Lahore.

My connection requests kept being turned down for two years before they finally agreed to take my money and put me on the wait list, and I still get very spotty service. It's still better than depending only on PTCL though.

For all the mess they have right now, they are worth the wait.
The feeling I get when I can freely stream 4k videos on YouTube is undescribable.

That depends on your circumstances, if you have other fiber providers in the area then it'd be better to go with them because of the wait time. But for people like me, where Wimax doesn't even work and the only options for internet for the past 16 years has either been Worldcall or PTCL, it has been worth it. 100mb for 4.5k/month? Worth it.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
