Hey frazgta,

I may be able to give you some help on this. My brother has fiberlink at his house, and he doesn't seem to be experiencing the same ping issues. Maybe it is a problem specifically at your end? That could give you some data to speak to fiberlink about. I can get back to you tomorrow with ping values if you could direct me as to what program you are using for the screenshot you linked?

I don't experience ping issues either, and I'm in Lahore same as frazgta . I do experience their lack of professionalism, though. My link stays down 8-16 hours a day for the past week. I have spoken to their Karachi office, Lahore office and everybody I could think of. They either just don't care or have no infrastructure in Lahore.

Called the Wateen guy today, they might be offering fiber optic in my area (NGT) and will let me know by morning. I just don't have the time to chase around support staff for a problem that will take 5 minutes to fix (i have 2 fiberlink 20mb connections, only one is problematic).

Pretty sure everyone's facing it. My IP is 27.255.6.xxx
I've checked pings of around 5-10 IPs near my IP and they are similar.
I'm using this to measure the pings:
Free online ping test traceroute from multiple locations worldwide
It would be great if you could get your brother to run the ping test as well.

Please post super-ping results and I'll post as well to compare.
PS I've had very little downtime in the last few days as visible HERE
Have you tried contacting Shuja?

I will do so if my link goes up before i find an alternate. And yes, I did contact Shuja but he keeps saying he will send a team asap. That was on Friday.

Pings are back to shit again. Everything is 50-100 ms+. Spikes and mini-dcs observed aka gaming impossible.

Started 3 days back. Prior to this, 2 weeks were flawless. Download speeds unaffected.

Hey people, I recently got my new fiberlink connection and it is fantastic, thousand times better than shitty PTCL. But I have a problem, max connection speed on any device with the supplied router is 144Mbps, I have an AC router and I used to stream 4K content from my HD attached to the router. Now when I tried to connect the fiberlink router with my router the internet speed went straight from 30 Mbps to 2-3 Mbps. When I reconnect to the fiberlink router the speed went back to normal. The two routers are not playing nice together. Is there something I could do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Update 1: I mailed them on the 5th asking about why everything was working so horridly. I sent screenshots and queries on their whatsapp number and their email. No reply yet.

Still Timeout-ing/Spiking heavily at all times of the day/night.

That is weird. I'm using another WR740N attached to FL's WR740N (for VPN) and it gives me the same speeds. Which router do you have?

At last my link is up after 11 days of downtime. Super ping at 1624:

Yup, I'm getting similar results. Impossible to game like this.

From just one call to their helpline I realized what sort of pathetic service I might have been in for. It took the guy on the phone 3 minutes just to answer a simple question of their service availability in Rawalpindi. The guy was talking in a typical karachiites Urdu dialect in such a lousy way that's beyond description and would put me on hold on my every question only to ask his colleague on the other side. It all seemed like he was some friend of an actual job holding colleague of him and was only their for a typical tea time meetup and unfortunately was put on the customer support lines just to offset the load. Thoroughly unprofessional, and no they aren't even available in Rawalpindi, I should thank my lucky stars for this though.

Amen, brother ;D!

It's day 7 here as well and no reply from them; horrible packet loss at all times. Pings are +50ish too, but they're the least of my worries with the state of timing out in games.

At the same time, however, TES is working flawlessly. Both Fiberlink and TES use the same bandwidth, but it seems Fiberlink always gets the shorter end of the stick; or maybe just the cheaper stick ;D

Anyway, I've started using smilies and other emoticons in my mails now since I don't get a reply from them anyway. Just 2 more pre-paid months remain - God, have mercy.

Yeah I heard TES is better but a bit expensive too. Still though I am looking for something to replace my PTCL in Rawalpindi. You guys in Khi are lucky to have all kind of services ranging from cable net to fiber link but we here in Rwp are stuck.

From experience, PTCL can be great. You just need to know the right people (power or money, or both) to help you get the best you can. You're only really screwed if the infrastructure in your area is obsolete and requires a complete (expensive) overhaul = my case.

I beg to differ. Most of these services (including TES and Fiberlink) are available in just a few small neighbourhoods of KHI. The rest of the city has to suffer at the hands of PTCL.
