As Salam Walaikum! Welcome to PakGamers, it's nice to see a Pakistani Female Game Dev in the forums.

I'm also a female in the US and I'm a huge gaming addict (so much so that my parents hate it haha). I'm starting graduate school in the Spring in Bioinformatics. I've done basic Java and data structures and will be taking various CS courses in the next two years.

I would love the opportunity to learn from a seasoned vet like yourself. Let me know the best way to keep in touch with you. JaK :)

Walekumasalam ,

Welcome to PG :)
Well on PG there are many game devs and/or interested in this field as passion. I am too but due to my job which is not related to this I am lil' distracted, But have plan to come back in future.

Would love to learn from you too, if you would have spare time , because there are alot of devs wandering on PG looking for a direction but in vain.

Hope you would be helpfull for all of us.

Regards,
Hi,

Sure, why not :)
Soon I will be working on some tutorials and uploading some of my work.
Which might help someone to at least start with.

I am conducting workshops here at university and teaching courses of game development.
So, its down to the person who wants to learn and how much one is passionate about it.
All you need is time and focus ;)

Cheers

Salam everyone,

I hope you guys are doing well.

I am a Pakistani studying and living in Germany at this moment.
I love making games and am also studying the same field. So, I enjoy making games more than playing it all day long.
(Though I wish, I could do that more)

In past, I have worked for 3 years in Islamabad games industry. In 2015, I have moved to Germany for graduate studies.
I am still working here and trying to help other people in developing games.

My main agenda of joining PG community is to help others and get some knowledge in return as well.
Since, we know there are only handful of people who actual work on games in Pakistan, we need to work on it together to promote it.
Make it a better community and also encourage women to join it.

I would highly appreciate your kind words.

P.S: I am looking for some women in games as well, kindly if you're at community contact me.

Cheers,

Happy coding/gaming
Welcome

I am also a concept designer so looking forward to learn more about game design from you.

Hey, Welcome to PG. Enjoy the stay and i hope you guys can make our GameDev section all hustly and bustly and spark some interest in students regarding this field.

I am doing BSCS currently, worked a little in Unity, CryEngine and RpgMaker but that's it. Now I'm more interested in low level game programming through for e.g OpenGL.

Well yeah, game development is not only down to Unity3D its more than that.
Its about having certain prior knowledge before you jump into this world of unexpected experiences :p
And it demands a lot of time and consistent effort. I started learning in 2008 during my bachelors program and still am learning & exploring.
yes I know but its like unity3D and cocos2x are like popular and easy gamedev environments and every new developer chose one of them :p .. and mostly gamdev jobs ere in PAkistan are of them .. anyway welcome to PG :p

From where you took the first step and path that you followed
I have done mobile game development for 4 years (iOS/Android) 2D & 3D.
From past 1 year, I am working on VR games (OculusRift/HTC vive) along side I am working on a AR game with SensFloor (to get player data).
I will share my work, once I complete my blog. Haven't got much time to put everything at one place.

If you want to look at what sort of work I have done majorly, you can for reference check Agnitus educational games

iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/agnitus-games-for-learning/id509343934?ls=1 & mt=8
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Agnitus

I have worked on 8-10 skills and a lot of other games in combination for Android/re-skinning etc.

@Path I followed
Well I have done BS(CS) with majors in computer graphics and human computer interaction.
I always loved working with colors, so I never liked boring programming. I started learning about graphics programming from my 1st semester C++ course.
Later on, in 4th semester when my mentor Dr. Usama Khalid was teaching Computer Graphics. I started building and learning first game in DirectX9/Visual Studio C#
Thats how I got on the right path, and finally I ended my graduation with BS Thesis with a Third person shooter game. There was no help in 2010, no professor or teacher who could teach how to do game programming. So, I started learning everything from online tutorials unity blog/forums etc Contacted few developers, practiced, tried out different tutorials myself and thats how I learned how to do things in Unity3D and used all the assets from store and combined all tutorials to make a gameplay, wrote a simple AI and level complete design.

Then I started my MS(CS) and also started working in a research based project which was about a first person shooter game for cancer patient, I worked on its prototype for 4 months. Then I got an opportunity to work with Unicorn Black on their promotional game Burka Rescue (Burka Avenger cartoon series). And thats how I got into real industry of Islamabad and the journey continues till this date.
