Might be because that .vcf file was damaged or whatever.

I tested it on MULTIPLE Android devices, including Desire Z, Desire HD, SGS, SGSII, Xperia X10 ... it works JUST FINE.

What about different market apps? The one I tried to use came from Go Contacts. And the VCF is fine. Imported it into GoContacts again.

Well that's because GoContacts might save vcf in a different format (there are 3 versions) and maybe it saves extra fields.

Why are all your contacts not synced to your Gmail? You're on an Android phone, at least use the most basic functionality.

I use the Program SDBackup. It does the job quite nicely.

The thing about a .vcf file is, you dont need any software to Import it into your phone. You just Execute that file from your File Manager and let Android does the rest of the job.

Yup, 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0.
But i never cared to find out Which version is supported by those Softwares.

Its easy to just open up a Notepad/Wordpad and Match the Code provided over Wikipedia ... But Why should I? When it works just fine on any android handset :looking:.

That Most Basic Functionality turns our Contacts Pictures to Crap. That is why

Besides, we dont have Access to internal ALWAYS. Its better to have Multiple Copies in your PC.
Not to mention the ease of a vCard file. We can also use that in Outlook (If anyone uses it ... just for the sake of argument)

I think that it draws power from Battery even when its charging. Logically, Charging is faster than Consumption so i guess It still charges the battery while its being used by the phone. (Thats what i think)

Well the psp's case was different. While charging it used to draw power from the ac adapter, hell it could even run without the battery if the charger was connect.

The phone draw power from the battery while charging, just tested that.

I asked a question (previous page) that no one answered. My contacts are currently in phone. How do I upload (sync) them to my Google account? I know the benefit... As soon as you get a new ROM, the contacts will get sync'd when you add the G account.

I think that it draws power from Battery even when its charging. Logically, Charging is faster than Consumption so i guess It still charges the battery while its being used by the phone. (Thats what i think)

It used phone battery. That's why there's that charging policy where even if a charger is connected, the phone will let the battery drop to 95% (or 90) and then start charging again, to save charge cycles or something like that.

You have HTC Sense... It has people... Place all your vcf files in a folder in sdcard and then go to People and select Import from Sdcard... It will start scanning your memory card and would ask which ones to import... Select All..

Was flashing ginger bread rom over miui on my galaxy s and it got soft bricked. Now when I flash a fresh stock ginger bread rom through odin it goes into 3e recovery after the flash where it gives some dbdata.rfs error. After that if I try booting it goes into bootloops.
Any suggestions??

lol I already have the backup on SD. What I asked was how do I sync these contacts to Google, in the cloud?

I am not getting your point... You have contacts in people which you want to sync? Or you want to add more contacts from vcf to people?

You can just go to Settings, Accounts, Google and select Sync contacts...

Seems like that ROM Package got corrupted.

Anyways, flash THIS one (I assume you have the i9000, not Vibrant etc)

I can't go through the boot screen so I can't get anything on my storage to flash it through cwm. I tried flashing jvu, jvt stock roms through odin but after the flash they go into recovery and again that dbdata.rfs error..
Now I tried to flash froyo stock rom and it gave the same error in recovery but this time after rebooting the device the rom does boot up. Again I tried to flash gb stock and same error. I tried googling it and it seems my internal sd has gone corrupt :-\

Existing contacts backs up... You have sync disabled? When I used to click that, it would automatically upload all new contacts to Google account...

in gmail we can find contacts in left menu... it does include emails besides phone numbers ...

Hehe..Yes they will and if there are any matches, it will ask you to link it so that you don't see duplicate contacts with in list..

Btw... Try changing LCD density to 204 instead of 240... You can do that by installing Font Changer(root) from market or edit build.prop manually... You will like the new change...

Ok, if...by real bad luck, the flashing process on ODIN starts getting stuck, try Heimdall

IFF Heimdall doesn't work, then try an older version of ODIN.


Just telling you as a precaution.
