Does Modern Warfare 3 deserves rage quiting?

Note: This is a balanced analysis. This thread is meant to be a quest of finding where the problem lies. Is it the game, is it the gamer.

Bought the game 3 weeks ago in high hopes of having fun. Liked the multiplayer for few hours like 50 or so. And now gradually its getting annoying and looks broken to me. Reasons are :

- Too many killstreak rewards - Just takes away the fun of pure gun fight
- Akimbo weapons - Only thing which can beat it is full bar connection to the host - extremely unbalanced
- Maps are overly complicated - heaven for campers
- Even on steam there are cheaters
- Totally broken multiplayer - sometimes you spawn just in front of an enemy
- Assault killstreak is ridiculous - one kill streak leading to other - Reaper can get you to AC130 straight away.
- If you try to play by the rules or just good etiquette your K/D ratio will go down the drain, This game is ridiculously broken to extent where you seriously start doubting yourself.

Many times I go into the game forgetting everything that its new for me or whatever is wrong I am learning bla bla bla but honestly its waste of money. Its lot better to download MW2 from alteriwnet and play that or blackops multiplayer.

MW3 is ruined by kids, 15 year olds and dudes who just love to camp. Its repetitive, you die the same way 100s of times and still wonder why you aren't improving. You just can't.

Online matchmaking is broken. You level up like hell. Seriously there is no skill needed to reach level 80, just camp and you are there in hours. Weapons are unbalanced. The game matches you up with level 80 when you are at level 1 and you are run over by akimbos in no time. Frustration at its large.

I don't care what you think about it, there are haters and lovers of the game. But to me its waste of money and time to spend in MW3. If you are planning on buying it, think twice. Only if you stand the extremely repetitive gameplay without brains.

No Trolling please. Stick to the point. and help me improve if you can and possibly will benefit others too. you can compare with BF3 for the sake of argument only. But don't try it to be a fanboy fight.

I am leaving it there in steam. May be future patches bring some good things and waiting if DLC improves it in any way. I won't quit the game so easily, I want to rule out if I am too rusty in online FPS.

Yes Akimbo weapons are the real culprit and definitely needs nerfing. Lag is horrible.

Maps are overly complicated - heaven for campers

At first I didn't like the maps, but I am liking them now. They have the flow. Plus there is huge variety.

Even on steam there are cheaters

I encountered maybe 1 cheater.

It has a new spawn system.Where it spawns you near your killer. But you have to play Blackops. Which was the worst offender.

Assault killstreak is ridiculous - one kill streak leading to other - Reaper can get you to AC130 straight away.

Again if you play MW2, AC130 was like a BOSS where you cant do anything. In MW3 its a little balanced and with perk we can precisely see where is AC130 mortar is heading. Easy man.

Nah, It is because we Pakis have some lag. Otherwise I have Pakis in my list with 2 K/D ratios.

i mean where do u get the time to play so much! i know u didnt play continously, but isnt that enuf? how many days have you played it?

altho COD multiplayer isnt the best so i cant imagine some1 expecting more

Although I am not refraining from my original post but I am now stopping to play the game for a week or so and plan to spend some time on learning figure drawing. I will get back to it. What I am now analyzing is that I may be in a gamer slump where your performance just gets worse no matter how you try.

I still have high hopes of getting up to speed to this game. May be I am still living in past and not accepting the changes. I will get back to this thread again and again as a reference to find where is the problem actually. Its not hardware ( I play on 1080p with max FPS game allows.

Now that I have opened my old COD4 folder I came to realize that I am too accustomed to fov of 80 and now there is very small window into the map. This is specially affecting my cornering. First I am gonna find out whats wrong with me and that is only possible if I stop playing for a while.

Just take a break from the game man. TF2 is such a diverse game and has 40 or so more maps then COD. I played it for 200 hours and then get bored. It dosent mean game is bad, or I am. Its juts taht you get fatigued. Play some good SP games and comeback. you will love it.

MW3 multiplayer can be really frustrating due to lag. No matter what I do, if I come face to face with an opponent, I die (most of the times). I know I'm out of practice and have played the game for only two days, but it used to be opposite when I played COD4 on local servers. Opponents having better weapons and more practice can be one reason, but it's more about lag than anything else.

Yesterday I came face to face with a guy and kept shooting him even as he jumped while shooting me. I was like WTF is this when in kill cam the opponent was shown to be crawling instead of jumping while shooting me. I always have 2 bars at best while all the opponents have 3 to 4 bars.

Just put on blind eye pro dude, it pretty much renders all assault killstreaks useless. They won't be able to hit you and on top of that you can take down the killstreaks with ease. Easily the best, most overlooked perk of the game.
Most of the problems I see in the OP are problems with the gamer I'm afraid. The spawn system is kinda lame-brained though, I do agree on that.

@Nomad Is the network quality really that bad? You've never been able to find a 3 bars lobby?

So far I have only tried "Free for All". I might be able to find better lobby in other modes (Team Deathmatch) but I don't want to be a liability for my team with poor equipment and unfamiliarity of maps.

- Akimbo weapons - No such infantile crap in Battlefield 3

- Maps are overly complicated - Battlefield 3 maps are beautifully done, with no complications at all. You get around and learn way quickly.

- Even on steam there are cheaters - Battlefield 3 servers are heavily moderated for cheaters. Rarely Ive seen a cheater get away with it.

- Totally broken multiplayer - Spawn points are optional and/or selective if there are beacons or squad mates on the ground in Battlefield 3

- Assault killstreak is ridiculous - No such crap in Battlefield 3. You play like a real soldier.

- If you try to play by the rules or just good etiquette your K/D ratio will go down the drain, This game is ridiculously broken to extent where you seriously start doubting yourself. Battlefied 3 would suit you well. Its a tactical shooter with grace and brio

Battlefield 3 has none of such juvenile problems.

Almost all the in-game problems in Battlefield 3 are player related.

Very few issues related to the game itself.

The gameplay and its elements itself are fine tuned to provide an excellent, fulfilling experience.
