[h=2]Batman: Arkham Knight back on Steam, WB giving away free Arkham games[/h]

The Windows PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, as promised, is back on Steam. To commemorate the game's relaunch, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is giving away a bunch of Batman games and other freebies to anyone who already purchased the game or purchases it by mid-November.
Warner Bros. will give away free digital copies of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate to Steam users who bought the PC version of Arkham Knight before 11:59 p.m. PT on Nov. 16, 2015. The games will be added to Steam users' libraries sometime in December, WBIE said in a post on Steam.

Developer Rocksteady is also working on a Community Challenge Pack that will be given free to owners of Batman: Arkham Knight in January 2016. Players who own the PC version of Arkham Knight will get that add-on pack earlier than console owners will.
Finally, Valve and Warner Bros. are teaming up to bring community-created, Batman: Arkham-themed cosmetic items to Team Fortress 2. The two companies are holding a contest through Nov. 16. Creators can submit their Batman-inspired items to the Team Fortress 2 Workshop and the three winning creations will be given away free to Steam users who own Batman: Arkham Knight. More details about that contest are available at the Team Fortress website.
Warner Bros. and Rocksteady's attempts to make good with their PC customers come four months after Batman: Arkham Knight was pulled from sale on Steam. The Windows version of the game launched with severe technical issues and received overwhelming negative reviews from Steam users. Warner Bros. apologized for the quality of Arkham Knight's PC port in July.
The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is priced at $49.99 on Steam.

[h=2]Batman: Arkham Knight now offering unconditional refunds to PC gamers through Dec. 31[/h]

Batman: Arkham Knight may at last be playable on PC and back on Steam, but that doesn't mean it's problem free. Users are complaining of lingering issues with framerates and bugs and it's enough for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to offer full refunds through the end of the year.
WBIE made the announcement this morning on Batman Arkham Knight's Steam page, and the offer includes a refund for the Season Pass of downloadable content, provided both it and the main game are returned (you can't keep the game and refund the pass, for example). Refunds will be honored regardless of how long one has played the game.

"We are very sorry that many [of] our customers continue to be unhappy with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight," WBIE wrote.
Batman: Arkham Knight's PC edition "re-launched" on Wednesday, four months after its launch alongside the acclaimed console versions. The first draft of the PC port, handled by Iron Galaxy, malfunctioned so comprehensively that WBIE took the unusual step of removing it from sale on Steam altogether, pending fixes.

The second stab at Arkham Knight still falls short of expectations. "The game still runs terribly," noted this Reddit user, saying "the game is plagued by stuttering, hitching, freezing, dropped frames and general inconsistency." Others complained of "worse framerates now than at launch.
"It drives me crazy we're still dealing with this," another user complained. "If not for the problems this game would be in my top five for 2015 but playing it has always been a nuisance." Steam forum threads are full of the same kind of sentiment.

Eurogamer's Digital Foundry also took a look at the re-release and found Arkham Knight still "is a wholly sub-optimal release that remains one of the most disappointing PC versions we've played.
"All the contrition from developer and publisher a few months back means nothing if there is no end product that puts the situation right," Eurogamer wrote.
In announcing the "re-launch" of Batman: Arkham Knight, WBIE offered buyers every preceding version of the Batman: Arkham series on PC for free, to entice wary PC gamers to make the $49.99 purchase.
For those who are sticking with the PC game anyway, "we are going to continue to address the issues that we can fix and talk to you about the issues that we cannot fix," WBIE wrote.

Oh boy! WB have messed up big time here  Master Race getting the short end of the stick here. :batman:
After all the uproar, its WB who's getting the short end of the stick here :p

Nobody has ever pulled a game from sale before. That honor officially belongs to WB. I thought UbiSoft was bad, but WB just took the cake :shifty:

I was really hoping that this re-release will fix the issues on PC but seems like that is not the case. :(

WB surely wanted to cross Ubisoft. And they have.

Was thinking of finally buying the game this time around. Primarily because the .tor version ran so well on my 3 year old system and I thought if they've fixed it then its proly worth spending a few bucks on...

^ Don't waste your money. Those who cared already played it on their respective platforms. Those who didn't already moved on to greener pastures. With fallout 4 looming on the horizon, this isn't the time to stifle through shit that isn't worth the money nor time.

well atleast they are caring enough to give refunds for... some developers before didn't even think of that even.

and steam is another platform that is superior to all in this though. plus steams refund policy i think already states that one can refund a game in two weeks or something etc.

I tihnk it was steams new refund policy that actually forced them to remove their game and try to fix it so they can sell it again after relauching the game but alas even after months they failed to release a stable and working product....without that new refund policy, i bet they would'nt even bothered to TRY to fix the game.. :p
