L3 (Level 3)

This cache memory is separated from the processor chip and present on the motherboard. It is slower then L1 and L2 cache memory but still it’s too faster. In these processors we have L3 cache of 3 to 8mb.
This reminded me of my first computer a pentium 166MHz :D. Cache is built into the CPU these days. That includes level 1/2/3 cache. The days when cache was installed on the motherboard are long gone.
