I would like to know which internet connection is good for gaming for Battlefield 4 and 3. I am currently having 2 MBPS connection from PTCL and i get ping about 43ms on local server. And 190-350 ms on European Servers. I wanted to know if i upgrade my connection will the ping decrease Because i am really tired of being kicked out and killed every time i new to real pc gaming as earlier i was pirating. Now what do you recommend I should Get 6 MBPS 8, 10 or 10 MbPS VDSL2. If VDSL2 is not possible then 10 MBpS regular will do the trick or not? Please reply fast.

i think upgrading the speed will not affect latency of the connection. u can play these games in 1mbps too. AFAIK all connections 1-10mbps will have same latency provided the network is same.

Whatever your speed is,
Whatever your connection is,

The international wires will be the same.
So there is no solution to the ping unless you start using a wired internet and play on European servers.

Multiplayer gaming depends on the upload speed more rather than the download speed.. if you want good speed make sure the upload speed is better. If you get 6, 8 or 10mb connection and the upload speed is typical 1 or 1.5 mb then spending money over the high speed download wouldn't do you any good coz other player receives data from you which means your connection sends your data, stats etc to the server and others see you. The more the upload speed is the better the server will receive it and provide your info to other players and where the download speed comes in just like you see other players in game is related to download speed.

lol now this is something new to me.. ok a couple of question you might want to answer since its looks like you have a good knowledge.

1 - do you actually know how Online gaming works?
2 - the size of packets you send over internet to the servers you are playing on and receive in return?
3 - incase I have 1.5mb upload speed will it actually increase / better my latency?
4 - TCPackFrequency dependablity on online play?

I am no tech nerd but I have been playing online games since last 10 years and didnt find such informative post so I rather want some clarifications else I am thinking like living under the rock till now.

and there are many other questions but.. once you u able to answer these questions I am sure you will edit your post.

There is nothing you can do to reduce pings significantly. It's the physical distance to Europe that will add at least 130ms to whatever latency you can get otherwise.

Im talking about the speed not how to reduce the ping as hatim have mentioned above it's the distance.. what i'm trying to help so he doesn't waste money on monthly bills and without any improvements and since you've been asking list of questions if you know better than just post rather than asking for a argument so others get entertained by you so you could actually increase your posts and have achievements from pg while you sitting behind a desk and has no guts to come up like a real person face to face with anyone in real life. So better post your own opinions or suggestions instead of telling me that you've been into online gaming from a decade or when it was invented. I don't need edit my post.. neither i'm claiming to be a tech guru in an stupid way by telling im not a nerd but this n that bla bla bla... better reply to the OP and try to find a solution or help him out instead of hookin your self up an endless net-boy conversation for which i don't have time.

Karachi.
The recent rerouting of the Pakistani networks has improved pings in DOTA. I hope that pings in BF4 servers are improved as well. As for the amount of bandwidth you require, it should be 2-4 Mbps I believe.

idiot kids now days..... if post were the only thing I would have to increase I might have been at 10k + posts couz I am here since 2003 so that thing is back on your ugly face.

besides OP asked for good internet connection required for BF3-4, and his question is obvious he doesnt know how the packet services over internet works to play online games but on otherhand you being another dork having no idea suggesting him to have a higher Upload speed.

atleast keep your pile hole shut if you dont know anything .. butt out kid and try not to put your nose in things you have no idea couz my post was not for OP for you alone.

OP plz.
There's a difference between 1MB (MegaBYTE) and 1Mb (MegaBIT). Also, even a 1Mb connection is enough to play Battlefield. Now, no matter your speed, your ping will remain the same unless your medium is different (Fibre optics, copper). You can have a 50Mb connection for all we care, but if you have copper lines, your ping will be same unless you somehow move closer to Europe.

their is nothing u can do to decrease ur ping from what u r getting now. its the distance between u and the server. wait for some saudi and middle eastern servers. the lower the distance better will be the pings , i used to play bf3 on some saudi server which had around 150 ms ping it was good enough. upgrading ur connection will not help u in this case.

Come on yar, keep the thread civil,no need to fight. As for the OP,his question has been answered many times already. Ping doesnt depend on the speed. Period. Used to have a 512kb connection before and played dozens of games online. Now im at 4MB and havent noticed much of a difference in ping unless as megaman says, you change you medium i.e copper to fiber optics. Even that wont make a significant difference. Just play BF3/4 on European,Asian or some USA servers as IMHO ping below 300-350 is still playable. Now relax,if you wana argue,do so,but keep it civil and related to the topic. You both are not kinds, try act like it na Link and Wolfy

Link: What you have said about upload speed is partially correct. Multiplayer doesn't depend totally on Upload speed, but a certain part of it does. That is dedicated servers, that you run from your PC, will run depending on your upload speed. The higher the upload speed the more players you can accommodate in your server, the lower the pings during load time people will get. You can test this simply, when call of duty Ghosts come out. You can also test this in the private servers of BO2.

Apart from that, what the OP has asked, has been correctly answered by others.

I agree with you killerdons and that's what im trying to explain in just the simplest way so OP prevent spending money on expensive connection and later don't see much improvement :) as others were already answering about ping due to distance. Was just my two cents. :) I even play CS:GO on indian server sometimes and ping is good and less around 100 to 120 something due to the distance and when playing on European servers especially from Germany or Russia so it varies between 180 to 200...

It all depends on the routing, Nayatal users get less than 100 ping on European BF3 servers while PTCL users get 250+.
